In the past, I often would pass on a guy who had no reviews. Didn't want to take the chance of having a less-than-great experience.

However, in today's climate of cracking down on escorts, etc., I'm even more hesitant to hire someone who doesn't have any reviews.

If a guy has a profile on rent.men, what's the chance of it being a sting? I've heard of cops placing ads on backpage, etc ... but have they created profiles on places like rent.men?

It was bad enough to wonder if a new hot guy was as good as he looked ... but it's a whole other thing to wonder if he is legit or a trap.

No outlet is 100% reliable. Verifying your candidate with other sources, like the reviews in Daddy's and other sites, and the direct experience you can get in these forums and in other alike, increases reliability to 100%.

But then, well, sometimes chemistry just don't work.

So reliability is never 100% in a first date.

When meeting a guy for the first time, I always host at a hotel & plan for us to meet in the bar/lounge area or lobby - a chance to get acquainted & provide a final screening opportunity to ascertain that the dude is legit (& to confirm that my attraction for the guy is as strong in person as I expected it to be)....then we walk, errrrr skip/RUN to my room (bed).....that's simply my way of operating even when the guy is well-known with a good reputation.....when/if I offer a 2nd meeting, come knock on my door.....in my own circumstances, I travel constantly for my work.....I rarely hire in my own home city.....so I really almost never deal with traveling guys visiting in San Francisco who are hosting in their own hotels....IF/when that situation arises, still meet in their bar/lounge/lobby first.....this way of "operating" has worked ok for me so far....just about the only "bumps" along the way - a couple of (complete) "no-shows" for whatever reasons over the years.....from which, I've simply moved on without much regard/worry.

If a client has written a review on Rentmen, you can access the text by following these steps:

1) Go to: https://hide.me/en/proxy

2) Make sure 'Proxy location' is set to Netherlands (it's usually the default).

3) Type in rentmen.com in the 'Enter web address window'.

4) Click on the red search button.

5) Type in [the name of the escort] under the search filter.

It's somewhat cumbersome, but better than nothing.

The more you know ;)

I don't think there's any history of police stings in this context. It's far more likely that you run into a guy that's using fake or outdated pictures than a cop.

The question becomes 'is it worth $250-300 wager (plus hotel) to see if the guy in the ad is legit, his pics are accurate, and can he perform as agreed."

It's an expensive wager for many clients and in my experience often and losing wager, which is why I am very reluctant to try out a guy with no reliable feedback. But I am not worried about a police sting.
