One week, business is floating along steadily. I had like 2 overnights in the last couple weeks and A handful of hourly clients. Sometime 2 clients trying to book the same hour. Then, out of nowhere POOF. Nothing for days, even a whole week.

That seems to be the current situation. I had gotten to a great point last week, and since then it's been dead all week. It used to only happen once in awhile, but now it's happening almost every month. I might need to start tracking data because it's almost seeming like a beginning of the month, but we're already approaching mid-October.

It's hard to pinpoint why, but I feel the limited number of websites seem to be contributing to it. Some cities you can use rentmen, some you can't. Others you can use a4a, others you can't. But regardless, this getting to be a bit much. Also I feel like current events draws everyone's attention away from us, creating this void in schedules....and subsequently fucking shit up.

Hey Mocha, I hired today, so not sure it is everyone’s downtime.

But I cannot hire you, because even if I wanted I don’t know where to find your ad or number.

You are hiding from us?

Are you based in NYC?

I'm on tour, but currently it doesn't bring me to NYC at this time.

I think I can do something that'll help ;)

That said, there should have been a couple appointments over the weekend and today, but I wasn't given enough notice. Also, though a person may have hired, doesn't necessarily predicate the pace of things for that particular person. You could have been the only client all week for that person.

I just say it because it seemed almost immediate that when the las Vegas thing happened, that's when stuff dropped off. When Irma was heading to Florida, that whole week wasn't too great in all of the southeast. I had planned a trip to Florida back before the Orlando shooting, and was getting calls up until the day I arrived, which was the Sunday after the incident. After that, only 1 person showed up the whole time I was there.

There was also an area I toured back in July that was good, but when I went in September for a week, only 2 people were available.

I'm speculating a lot here. How much of your business is from locals vs out-of-towners? I suspect that a significant share of business is from out-of-towners. Those plans often get mucked up in unusual ways when external events happen. Conferences get moved, and shifted to another city. I know someone who had a cruise cancel post Maria. They would have left out of Fort Lauderdale, but now they're going pacific and leaving out of LA.

I just suspect you're getting some of the 'butterfly flapping its wings in Mexico' impacts. But that's just my 2¢

Well funny you mention that because that gets me back to wondering about the business travelers again. Since I've been here, it's been nothing really as far as business travels. Not a single person.

Last week, I had the best possible scenario: the client was staying at the same hotel I was, just 2 floors down. It doesn't get any better than that. It's like doing an outcall without having to do an outcall lol. But he was local and just needed the place for the evening.

There's definitely something seriously awry with business right now and I'm just fed up. I should have gotten called to some hotel this week. Non. It's Columbus day weekend...nothing. All weekend.

And as far as me having my profile here, I want to be able to discuss things in an unbiased manner. One person may feel a certain thing on my profile shouldn't be in there, but I may feel it's worked well for me based on prior experiences of not having said thing on there.

And I don't suspect it's "just me". I literally picked and chose 3 different guys over the past week. As in, faced rejection and won. 3 times. In one week. Even sold a couple some cut rate massages. All under 35. Confidence in the face of despair at the fact I've got ads up and not getting much in the way of interest on my ads.

It also seems like trying to schedule stuff is so complicated now. People don't know what they want to do, they're here one minute then out of town the next...just all over the place. Lot of chasing and running around nowadays. I've gotten used to it, but it's all consuming.

Just throwing things into the thought process.

We've had hurricanes in Texas, Florida, and wildfires in the west. Nate just plowed through and Las Vegas had a mass shooting. While you may not be working in these areas, tourism took a MAJOR hit. People's attention is focused on these issues and not on getting their relaxation time.

Vacations are disrupted, travel plans are all over the place, and business trips are in backup mode.

At my company, domestic travel was put on hold for the past two months. My vacation was cancelled because it was going through Houston. And the thought of going to Vegas for a backup vacation is out of the question. Hence, my luxury time can wait until things settle down. If they aren't local, I'm not interested right now.

True, but when do things ever settle down for long? It's always some bullshit. Race riot. Trump bump. Natural disaster. Mass shooting. Repeat. But atleast I can say I recovered successfully from a couple bad dry spells in early September, but then I made a big purchase that set me back a little...but I had a 5 day cushion for the week, which would have been fine if I had gotten booked like shit is supposed to be.

But that's the thing, with these uppers and downers mixing together, it's hard to make any big financial move. My other goal this year was to get a new place after I moved out of Nashville, but I haven't been able to do it because too many dry spells come up...and I'd be moving cross country so it's like $1,000+the place I'd need to get started. Just been hamstrung all year due to these back to back droughts.

The other thing is people not UNDERSTANDING the fact of whether someone is visiting and the cost to do things. Just mega low balling. One guy had scheduled a session in resort area in the mountains 30 miles from the city center. He talking about he was only thinking $125. That's half my rate. Then claims to not even know what website he seen me on, nor my rate nor seen that I was traveling to the city from another state. The shit is right there in front of his fucking face. I told him, how the heck would you know who's showing up if you can't remember what site you seen my ad?

Exactly why I send an auto template asking name, age/stats, website seen on, city they're in. That way they won't be acting ignorant when It's time to confirm. Can't rely on them to give me the information I need without my asking first.

Other thing too...I think they're lying about this economy shit. I have a friend in Denver say he worked for an energy company for 10 years, paid off his range rover and was about to get into a house. They laid him off and he's been finding it tough to find anything else because so many applicants are applying.

I heard that all this thing about racism is a pile of bull shit. I have a friend who is Black, and he is doing great and tells me he never had to deal with discrimination. Do not believe the Media.

How your clients treat you or what they consider fair and reasonable is separate from the issue of 'dry spells'.

As for "economy shit", most people don't realize that when someone says the economy is recovering or improving or tanking or <fill-in-the-blank>, that it is never across the board. Not all industries react the same way, and the measurements used are all relative.

For example, the market is improving, when you measure the DOW. GDP is improving. GDI is also improving (at a lower rate).

However, many industries are not particularly strong. Private energy companies are in trouble with a tumble over the past two years of around 20%. Most of it is due to a realignment of the industries. So, your friend in Denver would see a significant shift in 10 years. He would also see an uncertain future as investors wonder where to put their money.

The other thing is that the term "improving", "falling", "tanking", "soaring", etc... are all relative to where you start. Even your business... You make (picking round numbers just as examples... I have no idea what your real numbers are)

$1000 Week1 which has been your average for years, $2000 Week2, $2000 Week3, $2000 Week4, $2000 Week5..... $1000 Week6.

Week6 was down 50% or Week2-Week5 had shown an improvement of 100%. All depends on what you compare to what.

EVERYTHING is about perspective.

I feel you, not many thoughtful clients out there.

Hope you are not thinking of quitting the businesss though.

Nah. Like I said, dry spells are just that: spells. And of course I just went over to the next state over and got what I needed. It's just with perpetual traveling, dry spells are much more noticeable. I shouldn't go more than 2-3 days without a client when traveling, and if so that's a drought. Sitting at home, I can handle a week but even that's a bit intense.

As of now the las Vegas thing seems to have gotten drowned out by Trump rant, so think people are looking to their dicks again for support.

Lol what friend is that? Also is that sarcasm or actual fact? Are you saying that things are the way they seen or aren't the way they seem?

Well lemme tell you something girl:

I used to had to deal with discrimination more in the late 90s/early to mid 2000s. But seems as I've gotten older and bulkier, and times have changed, people just don't duck with me as much (I was once chased down by a group of white guys back in maybe 2002ish while on my bike while they exclaimed the N word...but they weren't gonna catch me tho) . But I've also traveled everywhere, not just DC. I've seen overt and covert racism (at a store in Wisconsin last month, some white guy was having a rant about why should Blacks be offended by the N word when we "supposedly" say it all the time...which is an ignorant lie). That turned into a yelling match between him and another. I just acted dumb pretending I was deaf and mute.

Anyhow...that's off topic. But goes to show that people's experiences may differ based on the level of expansion of their horizons. Someone in DC may not experience the same as a person in Kentucky.

It was sarcasm, pretty girl. I was commenting on your unrelentless use of anecdotal information to make your points. You think my post was ridiculous and ignorant? I agree. I was mirroring many of yours.

For me, escorts want too much money. You might call it "mega-low balling" but it's what the market will bear. I used to hire more than now, but the rates I am quoted have gone up and up while my pay has remained flat. So when I contact an escort who doesn't have an advertised rate, I make an offer. If he says it's too low, I love on. And I just hire less. And believe me, I can jack off by myself a lot easier than the escort can pay their car payment without clients.

Thanks for response. I should mention based on the last 5, 6, 7...several clients, all have been happy to pay the agreed rate. So the case of mega low balling was likely isolated and definitely doesn't speak for all.

In addition, the dry spell had ended and things are back to normal pace. But it's good that you voice your concerns.

It's the nature of the business or so I've heard by many providers.

You're also assuming that all escorts are living client-to-client (ie, paycheck to paycheck). Many aren't.

Like I've always said, the greatest power an escort has is to always be able to say 'no, thank you.'

I'm sure you and a few others I know have their lives together and a plan for the future. Unfortunately I've met so many other escorts who retired with nothing but stories to tell.
