Looking at DC muscle ads for upcoming trip.

There seems to be a mind-boggling rapid revolving door, in this town, of guys coming and going with unspecified or very short stays. When you call, it seems like the advertiser is not the one answering the phone in some instances. There are an inordinate amount of questionable photos. Some names so fake that you don’t know how to address the advertiser using their own name. Some ads are so bogus, I fear to engage, and probably pass up some good possibilities out of caution. Some ads are so outright funny, it seems like an American Idol rerun of the gag acts.

What's behind the flakiness of D.C.? (Making no reference to politics!) What am I missing here?

There is a general flakiness increase across the board not just in DC.

Also compared to the number listed, there are very few DC mainstays. It's mostly people visiting for short trips. This isn't a new occurrence. Like NY, DC can be expensive, so you don't get them staying long term. Add to that that DC has a lot of "special events" that go on and prices go higher for lodging.

There aren't many muscle dudes who advertise in DC, unless they are visiting. It's not a great place for muscle worshippers (unless someone visits).

Anyway, who exactly are you looking at? Maybe some of us can give you a better idea of who maybe be on the up and up.

@big-n-tall pretty much summed up the D.C. market. I haven't had a regular DC based guy for a long time. The regular guys I hire travel to the city every couple of months.

It seems like it's almost always high season with the hotel pricing. As noted, citywide conventions and events have a big impact. When Congress is in session it just gets amplified. Appropriations season, January to April, which is followed by that damn cherry blossom season really makes it crazy for hotels.

It does seem like there's an overall increase in flakes or scammers but I think that's a general problem to all markets not just D.C. My solution to this has been to focus on guys reviewed on this site and vetted here in the Deli before hiring. If the guy participates in the message forum then he's at the top of my list. This practice has saved me a lot of headaches and led to awesome experiences.

I travel quite a bit, and am in DC about once a month. Camping on to the advice of others here. There are regular visitors with muscle, and I too vette them through this forum, where there are real experts re local talent. Compared to many other places I go, the good thing about DC is there is pretty consistently a smorgasbord of types and services to choose from, you just have to vette.

Want to ad that there are some in town guys with muscle, but for one reason or another, there's drama -- Billy, Seth, Ronnie. Have never hired any for that reason. I'm being strongly encouraged by an RM reviewer to give Seth a try now, that he's a different now after his allegedly abusive husband are split. I hate drama, so still cautious. Would be curious about the opinions of the DC experts here.

When I look for an escort I do not look for muscles (although I may get them as I have nothing against them), so I cannot comment.

I like Eli a lot out of the local guys. I also like Jacen. If I do not hire them more often is for reasons other than flakeness.

My favorite guys are also travelers, but their home bases are all over the country. I have my doubts about assessing markets without reliable data. My general impression is that flakeness is equally spread all over the country, but my general impression doesnt worth more than anyone else's

No one is flakier than the airlines. Yet they use terms like 'weather related' 'mechanical issue' 'computer error' or the ever popular 'new guidelines designed to keep you safe.'

So the next time you and your escort don't connect, just say, "Sorry, but due to the weather related computer error I was unable to attend. Thank you for adhering to the new guidelines designed to keep you safe.

And good luck with, "I'm so sorry but deposits are strictly non refundable. However we'd be more than happy to book you onto the next available bubble butt. "

Always interesting, some of the differences in experience and perspective between clients "vs." escorts. I'm not as seasoned (or as 250#s - plus) as they are but I wish I did as well as some of my escort acquaintances/buds who kill every time they go to D.C. (A popular guy I know and like easily can do six clients a day there.) I've had more "lift and carry" sessions there than any other city. It has been explained to me that D.C. attracts power, muscle represents power to many clients and therefore power trippers contribute to a rich worship market there.

FWIW I'd tend to agree with the comment that escorts/people "visiting for short trips . . . isn't a new occurrence." And I think there's something to the notion that there's a relationship between high hotel/AirBnB costs and short escort stays/transience. But that's certainly not meant to intimate that there aren't other factors in other cities contributing to their "FQ" (flakiness quotient).

Per @adventurous old guy, I just think one has to (Cor)vette. ;)

D.C. Is the one city I can't necessarily complain about, but everything sounds true. However, I can't see how someone in D.C. can see 6 clients a day lol. Especially if a muscle guy is eating 3-5 times a day. That's like 2 morning guys, 2 afternoon, and 2 evening guys. I'd be ready to go home after day 1 if I worked to that extent.

I'm curious, but what's the definition of a muscle guy? I'm started to become confused. For example: I seen Shemar moore ( Google if unaware) in person before. Side by side, he didn't appear to be the big roided up juice head that his pictures and movies display. He actually looked much smaller. Of course this was him in a suit and tie when I seen him. But his body is nice regardless and muscled.

Not judging by any means or even in the slightest. But if it's muscle muscle like Dwayne Johnson that defines muscle versus Shemar moore or Christian keyes muscle...i would imagine you're going to experience some level of sketchiness.

I know this because I've dated a handful of muscle guys. They're great and fun and may even have very organized lives. But realize that the gay scene has formed generalizations about muscle gay guys that although loosely founded, hold some merit of truth. Though, i despise these stereotypes because it almost makes all my years of dedication to improve my body in vain, because people who want to sit their assess down and pour poison into their bodies and eat a strict diet of drive thru taco bell and McDonalds, want to make preconceived notions about us.

I can't name those generalizations because I would be generalizing, but my personal experience has been no matter how much some "muscle, muscle" guys talk about a relationship...they seem to have ultra high sex drives and are obsessed with sex which tends to be an indicator of someone who "parties" and "partying" naturally leads to flaky behavior. Plus getting to Dwayne Johnson strength takes a massive amount of money, dedication and time on yourself. I think many gay muscle guys have resolved that they come first, everybody else are just minions meant to be readily used when they feel they need it.

Unfortunately also, gay muscle guys tend to have different priorities than straight muscle guys. Straight muscle guys seem to be focused on raising babies...while gay muscle guys seem to be preoccupied with spreading their seed and the next "party" trip.
