I take my PrEP and mind my own business.

Also, as @escortrod pointed out, we don't "deal with" people with HIV. "Deal with" sounds like something that is difficult and that we don't really want to face. I know that's not how you intended to communicate - we're careful with our language here, so we might say "work with." I think what you mean to ask is how do you communicate to those living with HIV that you won't treat them any differently, and to that end I think you can put a statement on your profile that says "HIV+ friendly" or something similar. In my mind, you might even want to expand that to something that fits you and doesn't isolate HIV as the one thing you're cool about.

Glad to see Juan Vancouver liked this post. Glad he is folly the forum. I miss his posts!

As I've stated before, when someone is open and honest about there status as HIV+, to me that suggests that they are responsible about their sexual health, and are likely taking the steps to be undetectable. Most of the time when clients let me know that they are positive, they also let me know about their viral load status, which is almost always undetectable. This, combined with my being on PrEP and it doesn't concern me at all engaging with them sexually.

From my own experience, it's best that everyone be up front. I had an experience with a guy who as things got hot and heavy just went for it. We did the deed without protection, it felt fucking amazing and then afterward he told me he was pos. I was pissed because I wasn't sure if he was telling me the truth or if he was mind fucking me. It was like he getting a thrill off watching my reaction. Then he told me he was on prep...and I was still pissed because that's not something you do to anyone. I know I played a part in this situation and I should have spoke up but don't be a prick and play with people like that. I wondered to myself, one day he'll do that to the wrong guy and get ass kicked. I'm pretty sure that's what happened because he's moved far away to FL. I saw his ad up and he's gotten more expensive...

Which sounds nice and heavenly...and conjures up images of roses and flowers and holding hands swinging ring around the Rosie. But taking those steps to become undetectable also require certain medications too. Some of which can have the most taxing side effects.

No diss to you Lance, just speaking in general...and I'm not going to go too deep into this or try and have a moment. Not suggesting either anyone do anything different from what their doctor prescribes. But, I've seen before and after pictures of people on HIV drugs and frankly it's kinda frightening.

But in the same vein that i won't preach, I don't think practicing to become undetectable or getting on prep is any more responsible than just using a Mother F'ing rubber. People need to stop sharing medical advice just because it's universal dogma.

As I mentioned in another thread, one of the reasons for PrEP on my part is I had a friend who died in the 80s who swore he had only ever done oral. Although my understanding is the general risk from oral is lower, every time I would blow a guy, I would remember him and have days of anxiety. I think the general consensus is against condoms for oral.

That's terrible...but, I don't like my friends telling me about their sex lives. I don't give a f**k, shut up. #2 they can say anything but if I'm not there...I can't say for sure. Not sure why they'd need to sway me to believe they're only doing "just oral".

Great article @VictorPowers..... Here is another with some fantastic new : http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/318621.php

Hmm...Meh, I don't know. I only seen the title, but sounds like propaganda. I prefer to read more uplifting articles such as: (regardless how disdainful it may not appeal to someone)

https://slayingevil.com/2011/11/09/the-hivaids-conspiracy-lies-more-lies-the-love-of-money-and-eugenics-short-facts/

( easiest shortest site to read)

(more detailed, takes 2-3 days to cover)

http://www.questioningaids.com/?page_id=11

( that site no longer has a forum but has other relevant material)

Not a doctor or giving medical advice. Just sharing other views when it comes to HIV. You're free to do what you want, but there's no laws saying you MUST take HIV meds if you're poz.

Edit: taking forever to get my haircut earlier I did read the article. But it's pretty much what I'd expect.

I'd like to see current studies specifically on health conscious non ARV drug using HIV+ men and their overall longevity and health.
