Ok, I may go off on a rant, if so, I apologize in advance.

I find it very frustrating to contact a provider and ask three questions and only get back two answers. This happens frequently.

Is your massage trained, erotic, both? (I'm asking what I should expect.)

Where about are you located? (So I can get an idea of how long the drive would/will be and I can schedule accordingly.)

Are you available on _____day or _____day? (To figure out what other things I need to schedule around.)

I may also ask What are your rates? (For those that post the incredibly annoying "Ask Me".)

For some unexplainable reason, it always seems that I get back less answers than questions?

I don't ask questions to waste your time or my time. I am reaching out and doing the business part of the arrangements... the details.

So, why? WHY? is it that I have to repeat the questions again and again? SOMEONE, please... explain it to me?

*Thank you for allowing me to rant for a moment.... now back to our regularly scheduled program*

Needing to know dates of availability I understand, but all the masseur ads I've seen always include info about their level of training and close coordinates to their location. I wouldn't ask something that is already in their ad. Just my opinion.

Carry on....

The level of training I ask, because most check the box that says erotic massage offered, but don't say anything about it.

Fort Lauderdale has 40-50 mile range that can take up to 75 minutes to travel, depending on the east/west road.

Saying Fort Lauderdale covers everything from Coral Springs to Hollywood Beach and from Pompano Beach out to Sawgrass/Plantation.

Someone lists Fort Lauderdale and is staying at the Airport - it is an hour away from my office during the week, but staying Coral Ridge, Lauderdale Lakes, or Lauderdale-by-the-Sea can be about 10 minutes from my house.

Just a symptom of communications in the electronic, cellphone era.

Info overload. Shorter attention spans

Its not just escorts. If it dont show in the preview window or on the initial cellphone screen, without a swipe... it aint getting noticed.

Make sense. How much shows through from a rentman email? Any idea?

If erotic is listed, they are indicating at the very least a happy ending in your session. Rather than asking ahead of time, take the plunge once and see how it goes. As far as transportation goes, I will never understand city folk. It's AN HOUR AWAY!! makes me laugh. A major grocery store (just 1) is ONLY a 45 minute drive from me. The nearest city is almost 2 hours away. I'm not implying city folk come here to see the other side, as it's boring as hell right away, but I am saying cross that bridge to the community in sight of you, it won't kill you.

LOL. There is a big difference when you're driving 45 minutes in no traffic where the normal distance to anything is an hour away, and, driving 45 minutes in bumper to bumper traffic where you feel you might be able to walk faster where the normal distance to everything is 10-15 minutes away.

:)

Especially if you're trying to take care of business over a long lunch hour. ;)

LOL...City folk here. We certainly have different ideas about distance. I can count on one hand the number of people I would drive 45 min to see, and one of those people is my sister, the other of course is Josh, but for a massage? Dear Lord, never, even if the traffic was clear.

Sorta fascinating.... this discussion of FTL traffic..... As a suburbanite in San Francisco Bay, traffic has become a major issue in my hiring decisions. A sort of balance of.... hot guy, I'm interested, but do I really want to risk horrible traffic, SF parking, etc?.... and hassle-avoidance has been winning.

LaffingBear's right. it's not just escorts, it's everybody. Happens to me all the time at work. My pet peeve is asking a question that give a choice, "Did you want it to look like A, or like B?" - and getting a "yes" answer in response.

Maybe there IS some advantage to this "face-to-face" conversation people are going on about :-P

Travel is always an issue. If I ask an escort to come to me, a 45 minute to an hour train ride, it is a major factor in the rate. On the other hand, I drove into NYC to see an escort the other day for 2 hours. 600 for the escort. 45 for the tolls and gas 65 for parking and traffic was unusually heavy so it was 2 hour drive in and 2 hour drive home. I am getting too old for this kind of nonsense. Staying home and beating off is getting to be a more and more attractive option. For those interested, I drove rather than taking the train as NJ Transit is a disaster right now with repairs and delays of hours at a time.

Fighting traffic for an hour or more

  • Offsets any therapeutic value after a massage
  • Cancels any residual pleasure after an escort session.

When time in the car is 3-4-5 times that spent with a rentguy, and the car time is aggravating, it begs the question

Was it really worth it?

When did I join the fuddy-duddy squad? I dont recall filling out an application.

This is all helpful to know, guys. Plenty of us are willing to travel outside of our home zones and city centres to entertain ya (those who can host) and don't want you going home half-resenting the journey due to the time and annoyance involved in getting to us and back, so...yeah, thanks for speaking up.

Of course, we appreciate you coming to us, as well. :D Or meeting part way at a motel or hotel. And some providers ONLY do incalls or stay close to home base.

And yeah, "Ask Me" (for rate) is annoying. I browse other dudes' ads out of curiosity, but also to cost compare. Plus one of my American clients enjoys browsing RentMen with me for a third when I'm called to his hotel room for an overnight or weekend (and I have fun doing that with him), so it can get in the way of hiring someone when we have to waste time asking their rate (easier to pursue the guys who already have rates listed and not potentially wait for responses from the rateless guys...of course if we really want a guy, we'll spend the bit of extra time trying to find out his rates). I suppose "Ask Me" might be for guys who prefer to charge differently based on how they're feeling that day, or maybe tailor rates for different clients (like what acts a client is asking for, maybe) ? And maybe some guys are nervous about listing dollar amounts, even though escort work is legal. Or the provider feels it's a private bit of info that only he and his clients should know, through private communication. *shrug* Many reasons they may have decided to go with "Ask Me".

As I plainly stated in my post: "For those interested, I drove rather than taking the train as NJ Transit is a disaster right now with repairs and delays of hours at a time."

You have my sympathy. Right now NJ Transit is a nightmare and it's not getting fixed soon. The whole NY / NJ transit system needs some major revamping.

I have the same happening to me most of the times, if I ask 3 questions the last one is answered the other ones ignored. It's annoying...

Do you try calling the guys when this happens?

I think nothing beats a 2 minute phone call to get a feeling, and get all the answers I want.

Not just providers but clients too. I can't tell you the number of times I have to copy and paste a question to someone before they'll answer it. Record right now is 7 times.

I know a local escort who has the same issue... ADHD by clients? Sometimes he feels he's texting 50 y/o teenagers texting from the office, the conversations go nowhere and sometimes the answers don't make sense or the lack of questions answered makes him wonder if there's something wrong with the would-be-clients.

In my experience, every time I have had an escort provide vague responses ("we're going to have a great time, don't worry") I ended up disappointed and frustrated by someone who wanted to get me to come as quickly as possible. Being specific about what you expect is the key ingredient to success. If someone balks, skip 'em.
