Ok, I was being provocative! The BBC has announced the new Doctor Who and she is Jodie Whittaker, previously known for her role in Broadchurch.

I saw a beautiful video on Twitter. It went for 45 seconds and portrayed a very sullen 8yo girl watching the announcement. In the last 10 seconds her expression transforms, she's smiling, laughing, excited, 'The new Doctor is a GIRL!!' (Can't find it again, will post if do.)

 

On a news panel show tonight, one commenter said the best part of it was the entertainment value of the announcement. All the manbabies railing about it and crying on social media.
