It is funny how wrapped up in all this we get, I recently received a senior discount at a a fast food restaurant I was a bit bent out of shape for a moment thinking I wasn't ready for that moniker for a few years. But figured hell I can use that extra money, Screw it, to the 16 year old at the register I was a senior.

That being said the agism goes both ways. I am sure there are some that won't hire a 20 year old thinking they won't have enough experience, or won't hire a 50+ because they may not have the stamina needed. Do research, ask questions of a potential hire, if someone turns you down based on age, looks, ethnic background move on until you find the right fit. So to the original poster if you think a someone may have an issue just ask them. Best case they will be honest and you can move on to a better fit worst case they will want the booking enough to pretend real well. To all the board members who took the post to the age old topic of ...well aging. Consider the alternative and enjoy each day that you are given.

Not me. Metro buses and subways in LA offer a Senior discount at age 62. I've been paying those damn 1/2¢ sales taxes for 30 years, watching the Federal government matching it 2/3's to our 1/3 all while paying 27.54 to 32.54% of my income to the Feds so they came build our mass-transit??? Come next May, you can damn well bet I'll be paying $0.75 per ride instead of the $1.75 we mere bloodsucked-dry taxpayers must pay.
