Turning 30 next month, I've decided it's time to do some rate adjustments. I've been at $220 for a little while. I've actually gone between $150 and $400/hr at various points, but for the most part $200 range.

I've already put my rates to $250 at the start of the month, but I was kinda wanting to push to $300. However, in my case...I'm traveling without a home base, Which means everytime I host, it's going to have to be in a hotel until I complete relocation.

Typically, a decent hotel whether it's directly through the hotel (even with AAA discount) or on Priceline/Hotwire costs atleast $80-100 (which I've stopped using much anymore as their taxes and fees coupled with having to leave a $50/$100 deposit everytime you check into a hotel just ends up costing).

It seems like getting multiple clients a day into a hotel in a city is a good idea. It'll seem like there will be 2 or 3 people show up, but the reality ends up being only 1 or 2 shows up. At $200, almost half the fee is gone. I feel between driving and hotel costs, I need to charge $300 just to see $200 for my own personal use. But I'm being modest and keeping it to $250 to see how things pan out.

I would love to charge $150, and have double or triple the visitors in theory. But it's not happening that way. And it's weird because I used to have more people asking for $150, but now no one serious to show up at $150, but $200-300 ones are.

And due to the apps intercepting our potential clients, I'm considering nixing the whole hourly fee deal...and just having a whole fee everytime I engage in an encounter. I could definitely do it, but I would have to ensure the person is open to a generally longer session. of course, it's those overnights and longer sessions that tend to make an impact.

I can only speak for myself I can't do overnights and weekends or host for personal reasons. Therefore the hourly rate is best for me. What I consider a reasonable rate in the 200 range would increase the # of times I would see the escort or how long I'm would book. When I see some of the rates I just don't get how an escort is making a business with the high rate they are charging. I'm in NYC so maybe that makes a difference as well?

have you considered offering a block rate for more than an hour? Say 300 for one hour but the next hour is 250 or 200

I like that idea personally as I like to hire for 2 hrs to start, and later longer if we click. So rates that encourages that gets my business. It depends on what the escort goal is I guess....if he prefers 1 hr quickies he should charge the highest he can per hour, but if he's the type that likes the longer relatioinships then he'll need to adjust accordingly.

I don't know why you are figuring in the $50\100 deposit into the cost. At check out that is put back onto your card or the cash returned to you. That portion of the cost of hotel should be a mute point.

I suspect it is the holds on debit/credit cards that become a pain... particularly in a business dominated by cash.

It can be a pain but if he doesn't do room service or movies from the tv or party like a rock star it isnt a loss at the end of the day. Plus, this is standard hotel policy. Now if he is being charged a resort fee that is a loss.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. Rewind that back.

It's not standard hotel policy. Its only standard policy when you book thru a 3rd party. I have memberships with about 4 different hotel chains. When you book directly thru the hotel, there's *usually* not a an extra hold for charges. The ones that might do it are certain Mariott and Hilton brands. But even then, it's just for like $20.

When you book through a 3rd party (Hotwire/Priceline), the hotel doesn't have your card information on file. That's why they take it and swipe out $50-100 at their leisure. Most times you don't get it right back. It takes 2-3 days.

The reason why I factor it in, is because over a course of a week, and a couple of cities...all that money tied up and the money required to get the hotel (a $79 Priceline hotel can end up costing $150 before you even see your first client). If a person just happens to be going to 1 city and staying at the same hotel the duration of the trip...that may not be an issue. You're just paying the deposit 1 time. Not 5 times.

But when "touring", hitting several cities and several hotels...it does become an issue. Regardless, I think Priceline used to be a better deal a few years ago. Lately I've just found booking through a standard hotel with nice rooms but without all the fancy services come out better than booking the fancy ones on Priceline and end up paying out more.

Plus...sometimes after paying for parking and breakfast, they end up keeping that deposit anyway.

If 300 becomes the new normal, I would like to see 2 hours being the basic priced time. I can deal with 300 for 2 hours.

Good news. Your dreams have come true. Or they can with me atleast. I actually used to and sometimes still do...charge $300 for two hours. I did that in Denver and was a good way to keep regulars coming. But then along came the hookup app...

However, thats about the same I was going for and likely will continue. Maybe even just an extra $100 for a second hour. It's really that starting base price that has to be sufficient to cover things. By the time I'm at $300 and up, that already takes care of a lot of things.

I don't prefer 1 hour quickies, but sometimes that's what a majority of people may ask for at a given time/city. Also, many times first time clients will just want or commit to an hour, but then later ask for a longer session. So it's really just about making sure that I don't have to force someone to stay for 2 hours straight (due to their work obligations, etc)...but can atleast cover the baseics
