Well, at least she can say 18 different phrases when you pull the Chatty Ring.

My sister had one of these. It was a really big deal back then. I remember once I pulled the string and Chatty Cathy said, "Don't feed the trolls". Cathy was way ahead of her time. :p

This place is Cathy Chattyville.

Lol. Just what were you expecting from an internet message forum?

Comes with the territory. The worst is when a member has to describe an entire year prior to an event he would like to discuss.. \it was a beautiful morning on thursday and the birds were chirping..........I must admit I do love battle of the english teachers. cat claws and all.

I'm SO bad with texting. Call or email me please.

You read my mind, Rod! I recently had my first encounter with an escort. I was so nervous, so I asked repeatedly to talk for a few brief minutes on the phone to assess whether we might be a good match. The escort repeatedly put me off and insisted on text only. It was an expensive lesson learned. In hindsight, this should have been a red flag that the provider wasn't really going to be that focused on connecting with me or meeting my needs. And that's exactly how the session played out. I left feeling underwhelmed and full of even more self doubt than I was before our meeting. Never again will I ignore my gut instincts. If a provider refuses to talk with me on the phone, he won't be getting my hard-earned money! On a side note, I so wish I was able to get to CA to meet the renowned Rod Hagen. He is dreamy.

I much prefer texting over email. I can certainly understand someone not wanting to communicate by email. I always have my phone with me and can respond almost immediately, whereas my email is only checked a few times a day. Most people are looking for a prompt response to a potential hire...text just seems the most efficient way to communicate. Not sure why it would bother you...

It's just the opposite for me. I have email set up on my tablet, which I am usually not far from. I do not have my phone nearby at all times. As it's my main phone, unless I'm using it I keep it on the kitchen table attached to the charger. I don't frequently get texts, so I don't check it all the time - maybe once or twice a day, more often on weekends because I get texts about PATH schedules.

The main issue is the length of the message. More than a couple of sentences and email is far more efficient. Also my tablet has a touchscreen, my phone has tiny buttons. Not everyone has a smartphone.

Text is great for followup while on the way to meet someone. (Not just escorts, either.) It's not so great (for me, anyway) for initial contact.

Thank you YBOne. :-) Hope you make it West. Text is a useful tool, "At Ralphs, wee need laundry soap?", but not as a communicator. Of course now, most people now use it chiefly to communicate.

My first preference is definitely text, if we connected on RM or J2G first and it seemed like a good match. If the communication started by email, I will usually just keep going with that until the day before or of our appointment. Then I like to have a contact phone number. I have only made plans from start to finish by phone a couple of times. It's not unusual for there to be a phone call at some point, but it's not typical.
