I live in L.A. I tend to change my home location to the city I'm visiting at the time (today, Las Vegas) to maximize visibility to locals and minimize what appears to be location confusion on the part of some ad viewers. No matter what I do in this regard, I still get questions about where I am. :rolleyes:

Hey, Papa: Can you elaborate/help me understand your perspective please? As an escort, what's more important to me is that you're seeing my ad and want to book in the next day or two not whether there's some early understanding that I'm a visitor versus a local. What difference does that latter distinction make? It's not clear to me what the path would even be towards someone being confused on this.

 

I'm of course prepared to stand amended, but it sounds like you might be referring to a scenario in which someone is noting that my home location changes when I travel. Since I travel maybe every six weeks, if someone is noticing this and getting confused as opposed to getting in touch, getting unconfused and booking me, that's kinda problematic and not going to be a huge factor in the calculus for me in terms of my marketing decisions.

If I come across an ad for a hot guy and want to book him (he's listed in my home city) I can reach out to book him, possibly in advance, because as a local I can not only drool but I can plan ahead. When I do this only to find out he's really from out of state and won't be available it plain sucks and is a waste of our time contacting him to no end.

 

Another scenario: I'm traveling, see an ad I like but will not be in "that" city long enough or I'm too busy to book...but I see he's actually from MY home city...great I can book him for future.

 

Conversely, I don't understand an escort changing locations. The RM software allows for your scheduled travel plans to have your ad display in the appropriate city relative to your dates and lists your travel plans.

With the caveat that we're getting into the weeds here about something that's irrelevant to the OP's question, I think the scenarios you're describing, albeit frustrating for you as a prospective client: 1) are different from anything applicable to the way I currently handle my location management; and 2) can be countered with escort frustrations with prospective clients who don't pay attention/read well. Category one doesn't apply to me. Category two may very well not apply to you.

 

I only change my Home Location to match the city I'm currently in. The scenario you describe in your first paragraph sounds like it applies to an escort who changes their Home Location to someplace other than where they are based when they are not currently traveling in that city. I don't do that. And one of the first things I ask/confirm early on with a prospective client is their location. If there appears to be a mismatch, I get that clarified promptly. There is no contacting me "to no end" and I'm sorry if you've experienced wasted time with escorts who don't handle this like a fellow busy professional arguably should.

 

For the reason I mention above about only changing Home Location to the city I'm sitting in at the time, I don't understand how what you describe in your second para applies to someone such as myself. But as you say, "great [you] can book him for future." No big deal (other than some blue balls perhaps). :)

 

I don't pretend to know/understand how all of the machinations of the RM site work. I do, however, know (and have posted word about this elsewhere) that the GPS location functionality is buggy in my experience. The bottom line for me in these regards as an escort is that it is possible changing my Home Location puts more eyeballs on my ad. That's my priority. To the extent that has the potential to create tedium/location confusion for some prospective clients, I make sure addressing that is part of my early modus operandi when someone contacts me.

 

And not everyone may be as meticulous as you or I: Just this afternoon after updating my future travel this morning, I've been contacted by prospectives in Philly thinking I am there now when that city is posted in my ad as a future travel city, not my current location. So you experience client frustrations with some escorts on this issue, but I also experience escort frustrations with prospective clients different than what you describe but related to location.

 

Again, sorry you've experienced some frustrations in these regards but what you've described doesn't apply to me based upon my current understanding of your issues. :)
