If I was planning to contact an escort that I met once several years ago and there's a possibility they won't remember me, do I mention that we've been together before? Or only mention it if they think I look familiar to them once in person? I don't want to assume that they would remember me.

I'd say mention you've met before right away; even if the escort doesn't remember you (don't take it personally if he doesn't; he has probably seen dozens of clients since your encounter), he knows you're not a flake.

I assume that they remember me. They may not, but that's all right.

Oh my gosh, MENTION it. Always mention it. I make a point to save no information (no email address, no phone numbers, no contacts) so all I have to rely on is my memory. It's preeetttyyyy good, especially with someone with whom I've really enjoyed myself, but is by no means flawless. If it's been years, you're only doing yourself a disservice by not subtly jogging their memory.

I've had clients that I remembered hire me a second time without remembering we'd be together before, and it felt awful to have them treat me like someone brand new.

Part of it will be a function of whether you use the same phone number, email address and, for that matter, name while setting it up.

I do have a new phone number since being with him the first time so that wouldn't help him in any way.
