Does anyone know how escorts commonly get their photography done?

 

I'm a part time photographer and have always wanted to see if I could trade time for a photo session for services. I also wouldn't mind giving my time for the session just to see some of the guys without any sort of services in return (ie, just get somewhat of a voyeuristic fix satisfied).

 

I've wanted to contact some folks before, but was afraid that the escort might think that I was being creepy. Has anyone ever had any exposure to anything like this? Any suggestions on how I could approach someone in a way that would be received well?

Thanks for the perspective. When you were compensated for your time, was it at the full session rate. . . or would do you think it's fair to negotiate something different given the circumstances.

I was paid my normal rates.

 

Many escorts will not negotiate rates - some will be adamant about this.

 

You can always offer a different rate, but it will be met with some chagrin from at least some of the escorts you are contacting.

If the photo session includes appropriate consultation, lighting, costumes, proof sheets, cropping, printing or digital copies, etc., I think many escorts would see you as a professional and want to take advantage of your professional skills. If it's just him jacking off while you take photos with your cell phone..........Not so much. Get on escort to go for it, ask him for a good recommendation and away you go!

 

I think it's called great idea considering how many boring/redundant/out-of-focus/ obscure/ generic escort photos are out there. Good luck!

Who would own the photos? Are you giving them to the escort as though he is your client or is he modeling for you , in which case you are his employer. If you are looking to employ a model, with nothing sexual beside your own voyeuristic desires, then go to a model site rather than an escort site. If you are expecting more sexual activity, then you should pay the going escort rate.

Great questions. . . in my case, I'm not looking to own the photos, so he would get them digitally and own them. I was also planning to use professional equipment and lighting for the shoot and could do any digital manipulation needed. Nothing sexual expected. If there was any attraction felt, I'd likely just complete the photo session and ask if he was interested in scheduling something else at a later day.

Establish a profile on modelmayhem. Reach out to photographers there who do TFD or TFP. Depending on the city, you should find some folks who are willing to trade in order to each build a portfolio...especially if you're somewhat adventurous.

Most definitely get on MM. Based on what's out there on escort sites, I'd bet you could find a TON of dudes interested in TFCD/TFP/TFD work. Pics are a necessary part of the biz, and better pics show someone takes what they do more seriously.

 

For my time/money, having a relationship with a photog I can trust is more important than most anything else, so be real and be upfront about what you're interested in getting out of a session with somebody. Make friends.

I went online this morning and setup a profile on modelmayhem (but you have to attach photos for it to go live). Then I contacted a model I've worked with before and we are putting together a shoot soon so I can build out a small, starter portfolio. Hopefully I will have things online soon.

I've paid for photos and I've done them for free with photographers who seek out escorts, offer free photos either for some experience or, more rarely, for trade. I don't find that the paid photos are better than the amateur ones, at least not for the purpose of the photos: to turn on potential clients. However, paying is sometimes easier because then there's an element of professionalism going on and that makes things easier to schedule. And as we all know, scheduling ANYTHING has become much more difficult than in the past, particularly when you aren't paying, but even then.
