A man in Pensacola, Florida, is charged in the repeated sexual assault of a pit bull over about 3½ years. Bradley Jean Hubbard, 23, was arrested Monday after a roommate accused him of assaulting his family dog, Baby Girl, according to the Pensacola News Journal. The accuser told police she estimated she had seen Hubbard take the dog to his bedroom for sexual abuse at least 100 times. ...

Do you really think that you are contributing to more goodness in the world by posting all of these terrible things in the forum? There is so much negativity, so much awfulness, so much in the way of stomach-churning / heart breaking bullshit all around us...

 

What do you add by posting this? For us to rally around mutual hatred and disgust?

 

I've cut down on the amount of news / social media / media that I consume because it can be just so toxic. If you are trying to get us thinking about animal welfare, why not post about opportunities to volunteer at shelters or effective animal organizations to support? To advocate a vegan lifestyle, one where no animals are harmed for the sake of taste or style or the pleasure of leather?

 

Please ask yourself if what you are posting is adding good to the world, or if it is adding more to the forces that divide us.

Further than that, unlike politics, theatre and even sport (and not just as eye-candy) this subject has absolutely no relevance to our lives as gay men or our collective interest in hiring male companions (whether as male or female hirers). Oliver, thanks for identifying one reason this post was problematic, and making me think about it more generally.

I've posted plenty of good spirited things on here about animal welfare and other subjects, I'm so sorry you're only able to see/react to this post. I guess things are in the eyes of the beholder. Please don't reply or you'll be moving up this thread and have no one to blame but yourself but I'm sure you'll figure it out something else to feel good.

I've done that too, once I even make a joke about it saying: "straight men shouldn't be allowed to openly served in the military".... It was a joke and some of yinz didn't get it, but some others used it as a way to fight back conservative cousins at Thanksgiving dinner talking about gay men as perverts. I hope you get it I don't want to explain this all over again...

Just saying... if he was black many of yinz would blame his skin color/ghetto culture for this behavior and all of the sudden his people would become suspect of dog rape, but he's white no other white person would be accused of being guilty of his actions. That's why I added the tag "white trash".

Don't get mad I understand your point and that was my first reaction too.

 

I'm thinking this level of depravity is not above placing the dog in restraints before attacking it. I hope there is a way the individual who witnessed this "at least 100 times" before reporting it can also be charged.

Yikes. You ever have sex with someone and the dog just jumps up and starts licking with the owner untroubled. I'm thinking what's going on when I'm not there.

 

Some of our family pets loved to take certain sexual liberties with my arm or leg. I think they'd hump anything that moved. I imagine they'd be more then welcoming to me going there instead of me just pushing them off.

Insecure people join pack attacks... secure folks post serious things, jokes, sarcasm, etc. and stand their ground in the online jungle.

 

I've already explained the reasons why I posted this thread on here, as I've posted many uplifting videos of puppies and other things that belong to the happy ending of a hallmark/Lifetime movie.

Jesse Berring is an excellent science writer. I haven't read this blog post on interspecies sex since it first came on 7 years ago, but I seem to remember part of the discussion being something like "if the animal doesn't appreciate some of your "affections' by the hoof print on your face."
