Portland prospects?

I am planning my first trip to Portland, Oregon next month. The purpose of my trip is not for business but of course I would like to find some client's while I am there. Anybody have any insights into that market? I have only worked in in the NYC and DC areas. I am guessing it will be more difficult to get the rate I have always easily been able to charge of $300 an hour, and the number of prospects will be much, much fewer. Anyone worked in or hired in Portland?

If you're talking January, should be easy to get some clients- December maybe not so much? I usually offer my locals $250/ hr, and they seem fine with that, never heard anyone local at $300.

Ok. Thanks. That is very helpful. I strictly never bargain. I'm not selling used cars. Haha. But of course I understand that if I want to get interest there I would have be at no more than the high range for that area. If anyone is getting $250, I am sure that is what I could get too. :-) Thanks for the feedback.

I think the average for a big city is like 300 now i think, so for any smaller city like portland I would start at 250 like @pdxleo said above

 

However @TopTierTop stay with your prices if thats what your used too as I feel like they're are more clients wanting tops than bottoms or verses, so their shouldnt be a lack of clients anywhere you decide to travel. Have a happy safe travels bud.

Yeah. I'm debating between leaving my prices in my profile as they are and accepting a little less or reducing my prices for those couple of weeks. I mean, cost of living is higher in DC and NYC, so of course my prices are higher. But I also don't want to confuse my clients and prospects around here who regularly visit my profile wherever I am, thinking that I am charging them more than others.

My retirement condo is in Portland and I've hired there many times until around late 2013. About that time I felt the options of local guys that I was attracted to were minimal. I always keep my eye on guys traveling to Oregon. But, unfortunately, many of the guys I'd like to hire are in Portland while I'm working in San Diego.

 

I think a visiting escort like you could easily get some bookings in January. And as far as pricing goes, I think it's a smart idea to avoid client confusion and would probably keep your posted prices consistent. But, if you are contacted by a potential hire and are willing to possibly lower your rate based on the Portland market, then do it on an un-posted case-by-case basis. I think pricing is also dependent upon whether you're doing in-calls or willing to travel for out-calls. Hotel prices in Portland can get expensive so in-calls need to cover those costs. On the other hand, there are travel costs associated with out-calls unless you're already covering transportation on your non-business travel.

From what I have seen, most here charge 200-250 but there are a few that charge 300 that live here. I don't know how busy they are though.

I'm curious to know how you did. My typical rate is $300 as well and my Portland trip is in 3 weeks.
