Sounds petty and manipulative to me on the part of the client.

If you agreed to "confirm" and "forgot"...then that's on you.

For the record I HATE when someone asks me to "confirm" an appointment.

I made an appointment...I will be there. Period.

Besides the escort texted the client on Friday and Saturday, the client saw his RM profile on Friday night, if he was online he was able to check his phone on Friday and Saturday too. He (the client) agreed on confirming and this morning the escort woke up with an angry text from the client calling him "unprofessional".

The same logic can be applied to any situation.

I almost always hire when I'm on the road. Typically I will contact the guys I'm interested in several days to a week in advance, and once we agree on date, time, and place, I always tell them that I'll reconfirm once I arrive in their city. Then I typically send them a short text either the morning of the appointment or the night before saying "Hey, just wanted to let you know that I arrived in [wherever] this morning, and just wanted to reconfirm that we're meeting tomorrow night from 8-10pm at my hotel [and I usually name the hotel AND send them a Google maps link].

This lets the escort know that the potential client (who might live 5,000 miles away) has, in fact, arrived in their city and is still wanting to meet, and also serves as a "reminder" just to make sure the escort hasn't forgotten, didn't write down the wrong date/time, etc., and make sure there's not an "Oh, you meant THAT Marriott!" experience.

Unless I'm making a same day appointment, I always reconfirm by text either the night before or the morning of the scheduled appointment.

This sounds like a lose/lose.

It was precipitated by the client not doing something he said he was going to do ("as spoken") and any review should be caveated with that. At the same time, if I was that escort I'd have spent the 10 seconds to send a "Hey-are we still on for tomorrow" message to avoid the revenue loss and wasted time.

If a published review contained all the facts in the OP then I would not characterize the escort as a flake for my decisioning.

Reading the forums, sounds like there are various confirmation practices between clients and providers. Haven’t hired many, and usually it’s been same, or next day, without any real request from the provider for me to confirm.

With that said, I believe there are some providers who are trusting of clients when appointments are further out. When I first contacted a local guy, whom I’ve seen several times since, the initial booking was done at least 5 to 7 days in advance. During the email process of setting up the appointment, I responded that I assume he would provide his in-call address closer to the appointment. He responded right away with his address, and suggestions on where to park. I then asked if he wanted me to confirm. He said no, we’re all set. Needless to say, I was there on time.

Yes, besides it's logical to confirm specially for an appointment on a Sunday morning. The escort texted him on Friday early evening, later he noticed the would-be-client clicked on his profile on Friday night, texted him again on Saturday and got an angry reply by the client on Sunday morning a couple of hours before the appointment was scheduled a week before.

I'm sorry but that's a unusual and he's in for many surprises, no-shows, he'll be changing his practice soon. I always ask the guy who's coming to my place: "text me when you're on your way here", and I do the same when I visit someone.

I always reconfirm in the am and let the escort/masssuer I will be texting them when parked etc 99% of the time it has worked. The 1% I was saved by a bullet as those guys ended up being bad pennies , one case a stalker and a few drug cases. So I always reconfirm..if they don't show up my trusty iPad Is in my car and fully charged to go shopping :-)

I usually have hired visiting escorts and since I make plans pretty far in advance, always tell them I'll confirm the day before unless they prefer otherwise. One time I had to cancel with only a day's notice because of a sick kid, and was afraid I'd be written off as a flake. But the escort was sympathetic because he has a child, we rescheduled, and all was well.

This is really simple business etiquette. Everyone thumps their escort Bible about this all being business transactions - well, treat it as such. When I have any meetings, professional or personal - I confirm them the day before. Situations and plans change, everyday life can be hectic and things get lost in the mix.

Either could have confirmed - they're both in the wrong. Take 15 seconds to send a text or email and avoid all the hoopla.
