I know one local escort and several others who keep complaining about guys making plans and cancelling?

I don't want to sound like @Mocha but is that a new trend? Why this year so many guys make plans and cancel? Is the market more volatile/flaky now?

I hear it is a real epidemic in L.A. A tight market forces some escorts to 'attack' newcomers - by setting up multiple appointments under different names, then cancelling them or just not showing up. Bad sportsmanship, if you ask me.

It does feel like an epidemic here in LA hah. The amount of people I have contacting to only want pics and flake is insane to me. For every 5 flakes though I meet someone serious and we end up having a successful date. So it's all over the place for me in LA right now haha. Going to Amsterdam in November and going to be in London afterwards. Hope they like the novelty of an American escort

I have a feeling sometimes life just happens. Best to move on IMHO. It goes both ways too. I had a reputable escort cancel on me last week. I had made plans weeks in advanced for an upcoming vacation, confirmed a week before and then when I let him know I was on my 6 hour drive there he said other plans came up.

 

There are plenty of rumors on the forums from what I've seen referencing people doing this purposefully to get traveling escorts to leave. What was it, DFW Mafia or something? Shady business tactics.

 

If you're in an area that has a higher than normal probability of this happening then it may be a good idea to adjust your business model to compensate for that. Such as requesting a small deposit to confirm, or talk on the phone, to my understanding most escorts have decent intuition around things like this and can sniff out suspicious behavior pretty quickly.

 

It may scare away some clients with adding an extra layer to protect your time, but ultimately that's their decision.
