volunteer or below-market-rate techie, grip, etc.

 

I've had the (dubious?) experience of being "talent" in *one scene* of a shoot nearly twenty years ago

(the original of the Fallen Angel series by Titan Media), and there were a fair number of people involved.

As someone who does porn, I don't know that many studios would let you just stand around and watch, even if you wanted to pay. There are enough people standing around watching already (the PA, grips, maybe a director - in addition to the camera and lighting guys) and that alone makes it hard enough to focus on staying hard, rolling with the action, performing (possibly with someone you don't vibe with) and making sure you are paying attention to the camera so your performance actually gets filmed. A porn shoot isn't as sexy as you might think.

 

@honcho is correct that kink.com does have an audience for their Bound In Public but you also would need to be OK with being on camera - that means your face, uncovered, in the film.

Thanks for the comments, I appreciate the advice. I've been on a lot of ordinary movie sets and know the issue with a lot of people hanging around. It's just been a bucket list item for me.

I too am very curious about it. I've heard that it is very boring and tedious but still I would like to see one.

I had a session recently with a well known porn star and he said he can get his scenes done within 2 hours which is very fast. I remember Shane Rollins saying the same thing. So it takes a while.

I believe that at All Worlds Resort in Palm Springs the guests can sometimes observe porn scenes. I recall one guest saying it was very boring.

Eric is right. I tell people who ask, if you love porn the biggest mistake you could make would be watching a filming. It's usually quite mechanic, tedious and not as sexy as you might think. Stick with the edited fantasy, it's better than the reality. That's why I enjoy escorting infinitely more than making porn, it's real and about authentic connection and vulnerability.

Same here, I find sometimes the production value is nice, but I find that I prefer the real stuff. I love it when you can see the passion in it. I feel in porn there can definitely be some basic passion between the actors, but I think it's more acting than anything. I imagine more-so with all the interruptions and people there.

 

Don't get me wrong though, I've seen some production porns where the actors have some serious chemistry.

Was at All Worlds for a short stay this summer- one filming session was happening during my stay, and boring is an apt description. However, the guys being filmed were worth watching for a short bit!
