I have been in several situations where I have been invited to someone's playroom, sex party, or pool party for a group encounter, and I often see escorts playing and having a good time. I have often wondered how and when escorts make the decision to go to these events if they are not earning a fee (I'm not talking about the situation where an escort is hired to service a group)

Would either client's or escort care to comment on their perspective on this.

Is a playroom scene basically advertising for what is available in a one on one session? Do you ever get client's calling after a play party? In other words do guys who go to playrooms actually become clients, or are the groups mutually exclusive - meaning the guys showing up for a group sex play party are not typically clients.

Just curious as I'm seeing so much more in this world, and what I see never ceases to amaze me...in a good way.

I'm more into one-on-one - whether or not I'm hired. I make exceptions, but rarely in my personal life. Although I'm not very relationship oriented, I do prefer sexual encounters that are more intimate in nature. Overall, I try to make a clear distinction between clients and non-clients. If the line is blurred, I don't engage. The few times I've had a group encounter, such as a sex party, the last thing on my mine was finding a client or advertising my services. But that's me - some guys might see that as a great opportunity. Unless is done the right way, I would find it rather tasteless, like passing out flyers at a gay bar - guys are most likely not there to shop, so it's probably not the best practice to solicit services.

Thanks Junior...It sounds like clear boundaries are essential from your perspective, such that if you were to go to such an event, it would not be anything where a client or prospective client would be in attendance. No blurred lines...

What makes millennial parties awful? Just curious.

Sex Parties in the late 90s and early 00s

1. Full Nudity enforced strictly

2. EVERYONE was fucking (yr 2000 I was at my most memorable sex party hosted in a Malibu Beach House. I walked into a very large master bedroom with a giant roaring fire in the fireplace and the balcony doors open to the ocean breezes and wave sounds. There were maybe 30 guys in the room and pretty much everyone was doing something sexual: fucking sucking etc. No lookie Loos.)

3. No Drugs. No smoking.

4. No Drugs.

5. No Alcohol

6. Condoms required and provided amply. Fuck without a condom and you're ousted and banned.

Sex Parties since 2005:

1. More often than not few, often none, are actually fucking. VAST majority are lookie loos. It's a sex party. "Watching" isn't sex. Nut up and engage damn you. (You can see what I mean if you fly to LA and visit The Zone.)

2. Nudity is never required.

3. Pot. Pot. Pot.

4. Poppers. Poppers. Poppers.

5. Beer Beer Beer

6. Condomless sex is the norm when anyone one bothers to actually fuck.

In other words: "there are millennials at them"

Too many generalizations here. My main outlet for sex is sex parties, and there are many venue in NYC for this genre. They often have a varied clientele and there is usually something for everyone. Typically, you can usually make a solo connection with someone and steer clear of the group play, if that's your scene. Like anything else, there can be disappointments, but I'd rather be disappointed for $20 admission than for $350 on a 1 hour hire. The main selling point of these parties is that there are options, if you dont score with 1, move to another. And the safety" of them is totally up to you. It is always YOUR responsibility to "protect yourself" .

Yes $20 is less than $350, but I was addressing the current state of sex parties, not wether or not contemporary sex parties are a wise financial choice over hiring escorts; that's a different conversation. (I understand the this thread started in a financial compensation context, so my bad)

And of course safe sex is up to individuals, I simply pine for the days when it was, more often than not, a given.

Generalizations, yes, but not inaccurate. There are exceptions of course, but it is generally true that millennials are significantly more bashful about nudity than Baby Boomers and Gen Xers. For clarification please see forum posts, nytimes article, and other google results.

It's also not a stretch to say, given that they are more bashful, that because they are not nearly as naked as Baby Boomers and Gen xers were at their parties (I belonged to: O-boys (Orgy Boys, Los Angeles), QED (Quality Erect Dicks, Los Angeles), Sons of Bacchus (San Francisco) and the South Beach Muscle sex party group also of the 90s and early 2000's who's name I've forgotten) that there is less group sex going on. And group sex, not one on one, is kinda the thrust of a Sex Party/Orgy.

Well Mr Hagen, seems like we each have our own experiences and Reality. I have absolutely no complaints about the current state of affairs of active Sex parties. I encourage everyone to try them if they are in your area..

As I'm sure you know the data show that for persons on PrEP the risk of hiv transmission is lower than for persons using just condoms. It's no longer accurate to say condoms only are "safe" while persons on PrEP (even without condom use) are unsafe.

Just Sayin: The Zone is a sex club on Sycamore JUST east of Labrea and Santa Monica intersection. Was tots fun back in the day. There was a legendary sex club before I moved here, The Vortex, which apparently was as close as you could get to Berlin-style sex w/o going to Berlin.

JJkrkwood, it doesn't sound like you went to Sex Parties when I did (I think you are a bit younger?) so as long as you are having fun now that's great! (P.S. I heard there was a pretty darn big one down by LAX this weekend, did you go?)

The Zone is boring as hell. Slammer is the better one, at least the men there are actually there to fuck. It is mostly bareback though. If that's your thing, you'll have fun. Wish I could have experienced the Vortex.

Mr H... I will be 65 end of this month, so I've been at this a long, long time. During my 22 year relationship, I used to go with my partner, it added a bit of "spice" to the relationship. And I am in NYC, so some promoter is always throwing some party, and once you are on 1 mailing list, you hear ABOUT all THE PARTIES.

Quite a few years ago I was invited to quite a few of these parties and always spotted a few escorts I recognized - all were playing and having a great time. More than once I wanted to call and organize a private appointment as a result. Maybe I am naiive, but I just assumed that the host had thoughtfully invited them and paid some sort of nominal fee - ensuring a good time for all the guests and obviously for the escort counting that several ppl like me would contact them later for privates.

One of the regular parties I attend in NYC, the host always has 1 or 2 what he calls "party favors" available to the guests. They are usually quite HOT and highly desirable. I don't think these favors are "allowed" to turn down any guest who wants to have sex with them, because I have never seen them do so, and some of the guests are often less than "princely looking".... However, I steer clear because these favors often just become "cum dumps", and while I don't mind sloppy seconds, I draw the line at sloppy "twenties or thirtys".....
