He sent me a screenshot of my first review on Daddy's and said "congrats on the good review."

I replied, "LOL, thanks!"

 

He later asked me in person if I was concerned people would recognize me. I told him I didn't think it was anything to be ashamed of, like having a Grindr or Scruff account. He grinned and nodded his head as to say "good answer."

 

I'm curious to hear other positive experiences with people finding out. Any other escorts care to share?

Great to hear that there are some good bosses out there, and more to the point that you have one. That he saw your reveiw implies that he is gay, did you suspect this?

This is a great story. I posted last summer about recognizing someone I knew in a Rentmen ad, but I never would have had the guts to tell him!

 

the world is indeed small...a few years ago, a M4RN ad popped up for a barista at a Starbucks nearby; I have never given any indication that I recognized him from his ad; now when I go to a monthly mixer, he's there from time to time; I'm not interested in hiring him, but it's fun to see the worlds overlap a bit!

Completely out of topic, but I want to say that this is a very out-dated and not very kind way of looking at people who hire escorts. Nobody HAS to pay for sex, or intimacy or companionship. In my many years escorting I have encountered people from all levels of socially perceived beauty and status.

 

Sometimes clients feel very strong shame about hiring because they look at it as if it is some kind of defeat on their part, as if they failed at the most basic pursuit of procuring themselves a willing partner for free. I think this is a terrible way of looking at it, and its also very imprecise. Sex, intimacy and companionship are all transactional. We all pay for it in one way or another. Sometimes we pay with money, but more often than not we pay for it with dinner, gifts, time spent together, attention, etc.

 

Hiring an escort is not a sad fate, it's an empowered choice. Most of the time, it's simply a choice of convenience.

But why was he looking for an ad?

 

My theory is I got snitched on by an IT guy who saw my twitter account. I'm not 100% sure. But it sucked.

Oh, sorry Glenn, I thought I had posted once that no, it isn't me. I did play high school and college basketball, coached my sons' teams, and still play for fun, so I'm in decent shape but not like I was in school. And I'm older than that guy! But he's kind of my ideal type, tall, lean, smooth. (I'm tall, lean, and smooth too but somehow it doesn't add up the same.)

 

But I hire because at this point, it's easier for me. With the boys at home I am not ready to date men, but that may change next year with the twins in college. I hooked up occasionally on craigslist for a while, but I can't host, and in DC craigslist has become useless, too many flakes, not enough tops. I have thought about trying the apps but until I decide to come out I don't know how useful it will be without posting a picture. Hiring has let me fulfill some urges without any drama. That may come in time, but we'll see.

Exactly. I think I'm reasonable looking and in fairly good shape, and I am pretty gregarious and make friends easily. Just a nice average guy. I might be flattering myself but I think if/when I pursue a more social life, I'll do okay. I tend to like guys a bit like me, and about my age, so it's not like I'm going to go after young gorgeous studs-- if I want one of them I'll hire him, LOL. But for now, hiring is easiest. (And in the off chance I revive an interest in women, I think I'd do okay, too. I get flirted with now and then, at least.)

I date men my own age and don't really have a problem in that department. I can't honestly claim I hire out of convenience. I hire because there are super hot studs that by all the rules of nature, dating and common sense, I would never have a chance with. Every single time I stop and take it all in with my eyes and feel like a kid in a candy store. I think to myself, "For the not-so-small fee of X dollars I get to touch all of this. What a deal!" :p
