Slow going in Las Vegas

Thats a lot to digest. I'm here to make friends 8 guess and get introduced to the world. Like any business things take time. I'm realistic about who I am. So I'm not fooling myself that I will take over the world. I just want my little patch in the sunshine.

 

Of course...its just a general rundown on things. And with some cities, no matter what one does, it's going to be slow going. But, there are some things to improve your odds, in Vegas...

 

I always say to myself the problem is noone knows I exist. I have to just put myself out there and try to be attractive to who I am attracted to.

 

People know you exist. However you mentioned you have been escorting on and off for just a couple years, on a couple sites. The on and off thing could make it hard to notice the ads. Something I read somewhere stated that it takes about 4-5 months to reap the benefits of a business's marketing changes/efforts. Granted, a set of new pictures could get someone a couple new clients within a day or 2...but I think it makes sense.

 

With being "on and off", one may not get that constant stream of attention. Guys may look at an ad repeatedly for months before booking. I think some guys check out ads more than they check out their wife. I'll put an ad up in a city, just to get prepared to PLAN a visit, no dates yet...and within milliseconds, someone will say, "are you here yet?" No...I'm not there yet. I just put the ad up 5 seconds ago.

 

Going off the radar, it would seem like a person would have to start the process over again. One or 2 brief periodic breaks may not hurt, but on and off with long stretches without an ad up could set things back.

The good thing about meeting new people is that sometimes you get to see a new side of yourself. Thats what I'm most looking forward to. A Chance to explore the world and myself within the experiences of others. I think anyone who can should make as many new friends and relationships as possible. You never know what unrevealed aspect of yourself will come out.

If I see an ad on and off I tend to wonder if the person actually exists. You can always just say sorry I'm booked during your breaks.

But as for Vegas being a tough market - last couple times I've been to Vegas I've noticed the hotel spa staffs seem to have stopped aggressively patrolling the steamrooms - meaning way more "free" action is available than used to be. That may be cutting into the market.

What happens in Vegas doesn't always stay in Vegas. It's slow going in Nashville too, dubbed "NashVegas" by the locals sometimes.

 

Fucking miserable here. Bored, slow, lonely. It's just hard to be in perpetual travel mode as I never get enough sleep staying in hotels. Which is always good having friends in other cities. But I can go for 2-4 weeks and not miss a goddamn thing. Can't wait til February or sooner I'm out of here and never, ever coming back.

I know I'm chiming in a bit late here. I haven't read every response, but thought I'd ad my 2 cents. First point for me is that if an escort advertises as straight, I immediately move on. A straight man is not going to enjoy the experience, and the one or two times I hired a man who advertised as straight, he didn't perform well. Certainly I would expect him to be a lousy kisser. I also would expect that things wouldn't get too "hot and heavy." I generally prefer to hire those who advertise as gay, but will consider someone who advertises as bi. I don't focus on the age the escort advertises as much as the pictures. All I want is for the pictures to be recent and accurate. I tried to hire a man recently who advertised as being 50, and would have hired him except he wanted too much for an out-call. I actually have that much more respect for someone who looks great even though he's older. If you put an older age, just make sure you say something along the lines of "Recent pictures, taken July 2016". In addition to that man I didn't hire, I did actually hire one escort in his 40s earlier this year. He's in great shape. Since the market may be a bit tougher for middle-aged escorts, you may want to advertise (at least as a "special") a fairly low-rate overnight fee. Although I usually hire hourly, if I see a great rate for overnight (say $400 or less), that might turn me on to do the longer hire. This would be especially intriguing for hiring someone closer to my age, with whom I might feel I might bond better and have more of a "boyfriend" experience.

My comment is on what Baron said early on: It is refreshing to hear the truth about how slow the markets are (especially los Angeles). I posted a thread in this section regarding this. The APPS are dramatic and serious new competition. In 23 years on top in this biz I have never ever dealt with anything like this.

There's another element to the supply/demand profile: rate. Based on casual observation I perceive that the average hourly rate has ticked up a bit from the first of the year.

Anecdotally, $300 is the new $250 and $250 is the new $200.

Some great Responses here. It Isnt just Vegas. Its ALOT of Cities. Business is ...lackluster. Most of my Hires have been from Clients whom I've already seen. The Rise of the App sites have made escorting...ALMOST Null and Void.

 

 

While I still have hope I really cant see this being a Profitable Business 5-10 years from now.
