Hey guys , I'm a masseur/escort and two months ago I've moved to this new apt with receptionist 24 hours (big mistake for an escort , now I know....) So , I just got a letter from the building management saying : "It has been brought to our attention that you receive an excessive amount of visitors. Please be advised that it is a violation of your lease to be conducting any type of business out of your residential apt home"

Well guys , they think I'm a pilates instructor and I was giving sessions at my apt . I don't think they know the real truth. But anyways ,whatever ... WHAT I'M GOING TO DO NOW?? Break the lease will be very $$$. What excuse can I give for this amount of guys coming in and out of my apartment everyday ??

Please any help will be appreciate .... I'm very desperate , cause I have to make money ... you guys know it.....

Yeah, and make friends with the doorman too. My concern is that if there's a camera, well maybe encourage more outcalls on your part. Not sure though how that will affect your business.

Btw, add a link to your ad if you can.

Thank you for your letter -- I have a large family and a large circle of friends which is no concern to you. Please feel to smell my rancid hole smeared all over my very large and promptly paid rent check.

Don't piss them off!! They can make excuses to come into your apartment in the middle of your "pilates sessions" to check on an emergency and make life hell for you. Are you sure the receptionist is the one reporting you? Are your clients being rude to the receptionist which is pissing them off? Could the problem be from a neighbor? How many people come to see you in a average day?

I'm thankful to hear the advice (though sorry about your circumstance) regarding the problematic relationship between a receptionist and heavy traffic. It's food for thought when shopping for my next place, insofar as it relates to a certain project I'm working on with a couple of friends to help them address this very problem. Note to self: No receptionist/doorman. (at least not any that can't be bribed to look the other way.)

I decided to jump into the discussion since I am a bit confused by this post. If "conducting any type of business out of your residential apt home" is "a violation of your lease," then even if the management truly thinks that you are a "pilates instructor" giving sessions in your apartment, that would still put you in violation of your lease. I am not saying that this is right, or fair, or nice, but if you are a renter you are obliged to follow any rules of the owner (assuming the rules are legal... and restricting tenants from conducting any type of business in the rental unit is, in my experience, quite legal).

Okay Guys , thank u all .... I already solved this problem... I took the advice of Killianjamesnyc and I spoke privately with each one and long story short : I'll give 300 each (monthly) and we're all good . Btw I read the lease , I know the lease and the rules ... No residential apt/condo will allow you to run a business from your apt. It have to be hidden from everyone in the building ... my problem was to be living in a condo with receptionist . ( never again , now I Know )

I hope that the posts about bribing receptionists and doormen are just folks being facetious. The front door and lobby people do not make the rules. Management and the terms of the lease do, however. If (when) the actual rule-makers find out what is going on, any chump-change paid to the support staff would not help you, and would likely make things even worse.

Do visitor have to be announced?

When the lease is up just move to a place without a receptionist where guys can get "in and out".

I may be way off base, but consider dropping your outcall rate a little bit - that might encourage your clients to get a hotel room for your encounter. One escort, who has since retired, charged 275/in and 200/out; just a suggestion.

Sorry that's too complicated, many guys just prefer to travel and wouldn't bother getting a hotel room too.

The last time I lived in a host / receptionist high rise, it would not have been hard for the unsub to come in the back door, next to the convenience store ($2.00 for a sixpack of Miller Lite or a bottle of Frexienet), continue to the lobby and come on up. Easy as pie, actually. But: +! to all the above.

I am curious how you negotiated the rates with the door man and the receptionist. You still owe them Holiday Bonuses, of course.

AND DO A LOT OF OUT CALLS

For $600 a month, depending on where you are located, you might be able to find a separate, small apartment where you might do business or at least enough of your business to prevent the need for bribing the guardians at the gate. Daytime at the other place, nighttime in your apartment. Two or three guests a night should not shine a bright light on you especially if you have only regulars at your apartment and new and infrequent clients at the other location.

This thread continues to trigger some questions for me, which I hope will be viewed as cautionary, because that is how they are intended. Assuming the doorman and receptionist really are on the take now in this saga, do they know the full story? Even if they have not been explicitly told (nor should they be, obviously), lobby staff can be very perceptive observers of behavior. I could see someone being willing to look the other way (for cash) while the Pilates-Instructor-with-a-Heart-of-Gold strengthens cores for the good of humanity (and cash). But, can you be sure these folks would/will have the same warm-and-fuzzy feelings about being accessories to a male escort operation (clearly a lease violation), especially if they were drawn in under a Pilates premise? What happens when the doorman insists on a raise? And then the receptionist gets wind of that? Is there only one doorman and one receptionist? Do they ever take vacations or sick days? What if one of them leaves (or is dismissed)? What if a new hire comes in and is staunchly opposed to accepting an enhanced "tip" for ignoring a lease violation and runs to management? Will either the doorman or receptionist be vindictive when they find out (even if you don't tell them) that your lease is up and the golden goose is leaving? I would strongly advise against any in-calls once you give notice to vacate, just in case.

Great topic! Whats funny is that I asked this questions to one of my regulars recently, since they live in doormen buildings one of them said he doesn't hire often so nothing is fishy, the other leaves the doorman with an extra tip to not talk lol. But Im guessing its way different for a client vs an escort as clients generally do not meet up with guys often like escorts do.

But back on topic, I would say definitely start saving and looking on getting another place.. one that doesn't have a doorman. Someone ratted and said you have an excessive number of guests so there is someone out there watching what you do. Or instead of hosting you can get a hotel for the day thats if you have clients lined up. Or you can find a room from someone/friend and you give them a percentage for using their place.

It may start looking fishy if an older gentlemen in a suit comes to your place after 10pm or something for pilates lol, so yeah definitely end your hosting abilities and travel to clients, or move out.
