Truman Capote's ashes go up for auction in LA: 'I think he would love it'

The ashes belonging to the man behind Breakfast at Tiffany’s and In Cold Blood have a starting price of $2,000

 

...Julien said that to his knowledge it was the first time human ashes had been auctioned. “It’s never been done. This will be right up there.”

 

The closest comparison the auctioneer could think of was the sale of Napoleon’s penis and a kidney stonebelonging to the actor William Shatner, which raised $75,000 for charity in 2006...
