This is my first time using a hotel chain app to book, check in, get a room assignment, and open my hotel room with my cell. It is their prototype. It was so convenient, but now I'm starting to think Big Brother may be watching my every move...should I really be going keyless?

I like it when it works... One less thing to keep track of. I love picking my own room on the Hilton app - it gives me a brief, artificial sense of empowerment.

Besides, if I'm staying in a hotel I've likely been video'ed a half dozen times before I get to the room door.

Downside is I've experienced about 25% failure rate and have to keep my battery-using Bluetooth on.

Good point! I was wondering why hotel security guards usually give me a knowing grin when they see me. The stories they could tell.
