OP, here's the sobering reality. There are tons of people who will write you off for having a small dick. As you're on way to drive to an outcall, someone will cancel on you and tell you, "Sorry I found someone with a bigger dick, size rules, am no longer interested."

 

A client told me that almost all clients are bottoms because it's hard to find someone with a big dick to plow them for free. But it's easy to find compliant bottoms wanting to get fucked, so tops don't hire. It's a vast generalization and I'm not endorsing it, but some people feel that way.

 

At the end of the day, you'll be absolutely fine. The people who care only about getting fucked by a big dick are a great percentage of clients, but most of them won't contact you. The ones who don't care will post on this thread, pm you to tell you they are interested in hiring you, and give you encouragement.

 

The important thing is to figure out what works for you. Find the clients who like you and keep them. Physical looks often open the doors, but they don't keep the doors open.

Former top who's now a bottom for medical reasons (hydraulics problems). Coincidentally just hired my first pure bottom recently. I admit that I'd usually pass an ad by based on that, but he was gorgeous and had a really smart, nice, funny blurb in his ad and I felt very simpatico when we talked on the phone. I'm not responding to you directly, but this sentiment. I can only speak for myself, but like I said I don't ever hire for topping I hire exclusively bottoms. I skip over ads that say top. A big reason I hire: it's a pain to find good reliable bottoms. It's even harder to find good reliable bottoms that I find attractive who like me. I'm a cubbish stocky guy (5'8" 210) and while I'm bigger than average in cock size I'm not huge. I like twinks and very thin otters, aka people who normally wouldn't look at me. It's hard to find guys to bottom that click with me. And it can be hassle outside a professional setting. I have no idea how many clients are exclusive tops. I'm guessing it is a minority, but I find it hard to believe it that say I'm the only top exclusive client, or one of 3, in Chicago.

 

I do think if you are going to peg yourself as only a bottom (or only a top for that matter), you need to be willing to advertise/do play to broaden the services you offer. I think being an exclusive bottom is workable...if you also offer, say, pro-sub services.

I'd stick with versatile even though a lot of guys are looking for a specific thing. It will keep from automatically excluding a group.

 

Sometimes you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. I have a good friend who is a complete hungry bottom. On Rentmen or Grindr, he won't pursue anyone who isn't claiming 'top only' because his cynical point-of-view is that versatile means they can top if they have to, but will most likely be fighting him for the bottom.
