My name is Matthew Born and I am a 27 year old hard-working, passionate, and overall really happy person. I was born in Southern California but I spent the majority of my childhood in Saskatchewan, Canada. After high school I attended university in New Jersey on a baseball scholarship where I was an all-conference athlete while graduating at the top of my class with a BS in civil engineering. I then began working in Manhattan and although I really enjoyed my time in The City, I always knew I would eventually end up back on the west coast. So when I was offered a position last October by a company whose office was near Santa Barbara, I packed up a few bags of clothes, hopped on a plane, and started over.

Not knowing anybody in the area has been a challenge but it has been something I have embraced. I enjoy not having to worry about all of the noise and drama that comes along with being in the same city you've lived your entire life. I live steps from the beach and have really gotten used to the carefree attitude that comes with being near the water. It's allowed me to be much more content with what's going on in my life. Things could always be a little better than they are, but I really don't have a whole lot to complain about. I'm healthy, have great friends, loving family members, no worries, and no idea where I'll be or what I'll be doing in five years. And I love it.
