I was looking at RentMen--yes, I don't contractor hire, but I do enjoy the window shopping--and I noticed something. On some escort pages, the overnight rate would be under $1000.00, Could one surmise that escorts who go under that amount, and who are well reviewed, engage in the business simply for kicks or just a personal hobby? What got me thinking of this was seeing Bryce Anderson's page in Palm Springs. In the SoCal market, I would have thought a baseline grand was the standard rate...yet his posting had an overnight at $800.00.

 

Any thoughts?

One guy I know has a relatively low overnight rate because he likes to spend time getting to know his clients instead of rushing into the bedroom. And he wants clients to have the option for longer sessions so that can happen.

Keep in mind you'll need to determine what an overnight actually is for each advertiser. Some have a time limit and require at minimum certain activities while others have a loose definition of the term.

I had a couple of inquiries overnight about this post, so I wanted to clarify it's intent. I use the ratio as just one factor among many to help me gauge compatibility with a guy I have never met. If I have previously met the companion, my experience with him guides the type of session I prefer in the future.

This. I'm more of a part-timer so that influences my opinion. I love dinner and I need a full night's sleep especially to engage in that 3rd session. I sleep very deeply so I don't feel like I'm doing any work during those hours.

Unless it's a typo I think he is seriously signaling that he doesn't like to do overnights. That or they are very, very long.

That's a good point. I'm still trying to figure out my rates (I feel like I might be overcharging seeing as I'm trans, even though I think my rates are average for my area) but will keep this in mind if I decide to adjust.

I mean there's less of a demand for my type and I should price accordingly. Of the few who reach out to me, some have said my rates were out of their budget.

 

Yes, there will always be someone who will find any rate "out of their budget" but I've been feeling like I should come down a bit. Its.not.worth spending so much in advertising if I get only 1 or 2 clients ever.

Some of the trans escorts charge 300-400 per hour. It seems to be a very active market, certainly more active than what I would have expected. Could it be that the trans escort business is very much done on Backpage and/or on Eros.com? Those may be better venues for you than rentmen.com. Worth looking into ...

I agree that being a trans man you should charge more, not less. The only trick is to find the correct venue where people looking for that will be able to find you.

I think there's a very known/visible market for trans women, more so than trans men. I found 0 results for 'FTM' on Backpage in my area. But thanks for suggesting I check plwces other than Rentmen. I'll keep looking for a better venue.
