Aren't those the spires of Mission Delores in San Francisco at his knees?

I'm thinking Saints Peter and Paul Church in San Francisco, and Coit Tower further back and to the right. I could be wrong, it's been a long time since my last visit to San Francisco.

If you click on the bottom color pic, there shrouded in fog, faintly, is a bridge painted international orange,

and my guess is that the big hill would be mount tamalpais, the nearest green swath would be golden gate park and

the further one the presidio. So you'ld be looking north, but not sure from where.

The pic of him on the rocks looks like it's taken from Buena Vista Park in SF. In the color one, the spires by his knees is St Ignatius church on the campus of the University of San Francisco. The large green swathe to left is the eastern edge of Golden Gate Park and you can see the Panhandle as a horizontal line of green right behind him.

I'm wondering if it might be from corona heights park (a bit south of Buena Vista), which is craggier.

Doesn't seem like enough streets to be from Buena Vista, but I agree about the perspective of St. Ignatius

Church (and the squarish building would then be St. Mary's hospital).
