Yes the intestine is very thin but generally you don go that far when your just starting out. Most guys get wrist deep and they are perfectly content. The porn you see of guys going up to the elbow or armpit takes years of practice. There are safety concerns and it's not something I recommend doing with someone inexperienced. I always travel with nail clippers and a nail file. I strongly urge anyone who is going to play with someone's bum be it Fisting or just using your finger to clip your nails. I can tell ya from experience that I have met those guys with jagged nails and I nearly jumped through my ceiling when they tried to play with my bum.

 

As for gloves you can use latex but if your using any kind of oil based lube like crisco or slam dunk it will degrade the gloves and they can break. I find black nitrile gloves bunch up and are a bit uncomfortable when I bottom. A good trick when your using nitrile gloves is to pull them inside out, it seems to alleviate some of the discomfort. I agree about Fort Troff. I got a bottle of their lube and for the life of me I still can't figure out how to open it. It seemed like a no brainier to press on the top, but nothing happens. It's sitting on a shelf someplace and 1000 miles away from where I am now. The next step is to attack it with an ice pick when I get the chance.

 

Regarding latex gloves, I find them to be the most comfortable and wore them for decades in my job. Sure there are latex allergies, but in all the years I fortunately only ran across one person who had such an allergy and I wore the less comfortable gloves for him. In my profession I needed to be comfortable and maintain dexterity and form fitting powerless latex always gave the best fit by far. If a certain type of glove was discontinued it was a major obstacle that needed to be overcome.

 

When fisting, finger dexterity is probably not as critical, so allowances can be made and nitrile would be an alternative unless as Chris says there could be a "comfort issue" as well. I can certainly see how they might "bunch up"!
