Gents,

I'm curious - is there a way for you to remove your ad on RM from the search function? I ask as I put in the name of a gent I had been in touch with about an appointment for this weekend, and no ad came up - both as a visitor and a logged in member. But, when logged in, if I viewed his e-mail to me, clicking on his name brings up his ad. I found it odd to be honest and was curious if this is an option for you gents -- and if so, why would one use it (i.e.; limit the potential client base). To be frank, it has me wondering now about this weekend's appointment.

Cheers,

BBD

Has his ad expired by any chance? Sometimes ads that expire are no longer searchable on RM but you can still access them thru cached files, like an email exchange. Hope tech savvy guys or RM gurus chime in. Saludos, - TR

PS - I expect a full report of said weekend activities, mister! ;)

I know RM is it's own entity and they have their hands full with their website and their business. But it would be nice if they had someone who partipated in this forum....just to answer and clarify any questions that someone posts..... especially since the website is mentioned so frequently here.

They did until sometime in mid-September, IIRC. At any rate, until a few weeks after the Rentboy raid. I do not believe the timing was coincidental.

Based on what I've gleaned from the forum, pre-Rentboy raid, Rentmen was more accessible and responsive to client concerns (and possibly also to escorts as well). I know many thought their features and layouts were an improvement on Rentboy. But not being first it didn't have the market share and hence wasn't as important or well-recognized.

Whether recent changes are driven by more of a monopoly on the market, prudence in the wake of Rentboy's demise, or both is unclear.

It could be that they changed their name. I have had a similar experience. The profile name say is john1 but when I search for john1 nothing comes up. When I go to the email link it takes me to john1 but if I look at the actual address its not rentmen/john1 it is rentmen/adam1

Check the link on the email and see what the name shows up as because it may just be he changed his profile name

Just a quick follow up -- but, the gent in question showed up later when I searched again. No name change either. I've no idea what was going on - maybe the function can be case sensitive? Or maybe SkyNet is going live?

I think an escort can "hide" their ad from appearing in search results. An escort that I have hired stopped showing up in the city listings and would not come up when I searched on his name. However, when I clicked on his name in my buddy list his ad would display. I've also seen instances of an escort's ad not appearing in search results and the appearing later in the same day. Gremlins, I suppose. :)
