If it is something he might like to attend, you might even get him to throw in his time for the concert and payment for a session. In my personal experience when someone wants company for an event, the ticket is offered to the companion, not sold. Also, if you want your companion to be an escort, then there is the issue of payment for his time.

I mean i don't know if this is exactly what the op means, but I have this regular and we would do this pay later thing as he has wierd 2-3 pay periods a month plus he has to pay more important bills at the moment so sometimes he has no money after paying those first.
