Couldn't he do some "information interviewing" by taking escorts he admires out to lunch? He might even pay them for an hour of their time. Law students and brand-new attorneys looking for employment/career guidance email me all the time asking if I will talk with them for a few minutes on the telephone. I nearly always say "yes." Is escorting so different?

Hmmm. . . .I assume the "every man for himself" rule applies to the "biz".

I've never had that feeling. I've talked shop with other working guys when I needed advice and they've always been happy to offer up some advice. They never looked at me as competition as far as I know.

Hugs,

Greg

I think it is a smart idea to seek out a mentor. I know an escort here in NY who didn't seek the advice of any other escorts, got started on backpage and craigslist and was totally inexperienced in terms of fees, expected services and so on. Needless to say, he had to deal with some REAL freaks as clients. It was only after a few months that he discovered more 'upscale' - for lack of a better term - escort websites. This business can be rough as it is, especially when you start out as a novice. People will take advantage of you, causing disappointment and a rapid burn out.
