An escort complained to me that people were visiting his ad hundreds of times without hiring him. He said he was "tired of being free porn", and showed me his rentmen.com performance metrics. Very interesting! I wasn't surprised that lots of guys look at his pictures -- after all, I thought he was so hot I paid to see him in person. But I was surprised by my own numbers when he showed me how see them on my mobile phone. (They're not visible on the desktop site I normally view on my laptop.) According to rentmen, some people are as interested in my profile as I am in the profiles of hot escorts, but my profile has no "porn" value. I don't have any pictures at all -- just basic stats so guys will know I'm as old as their dad.

 

Some of my numbers under "who saw me" are so high I wonder why they saw me. And my numbers for clicking, calling, mapping are definitely wrong. It shows zero for escorts I not only contacted but actually hired. The numbers don't make sense.

 

Pros: Is there a reason you'd look up a client profile multiple times? Do your ad impressions and actions accurately predict how much business you get?

I have the feature turned on. I don't care if an advertiser notices when I view their ad. Alot of escorts have contacted me because they saw my profile or my viewing record. I reply to some of the inquiries, and ignore others that do not interest me. It's exhausting to be so noticed and desirable. :p

I checkout a lot of profiles of guys that I would never hire. I would never hire them because they are either total tops, or too far away, or bareback. I still check them out because I think they're hot. I check out Kurtis's ad all the time for that reason ;)

I am actually a Web Design & Development major and Internet marketing is my favorite part, so I am obsessed with analytics. I have noticed with RentMen my profile has had over 13,000 visits. I can assure you all I have not had anywhere near that many clients. They also track how many email clicks and phone clicks, which are generally low. However, an escort's number and email are listed in their profile, so no clicking is necessary to contact.

As far as an escort not wanting to feel like a porn star due to high numbers of profile clicks, perhaps they should consider a different field of work. One must think of another reasons for this. Many people are hesitant to hire someone, especially if they are new. I wish more people would contact me sooner just simply to help calm themselves lol.

 

As far as generating responses, content that is genuine and speaks to your intended audience will generate the responses from the type of people you are looking for. Look at the competition in your market, and come up with a headline that showcases your personality and include unique things about yourself that sets you apart from the others.

 

As a RentMen advertiser, I typically check out the profiles of clients who have viewed my profile.. That's natural curiosity. I obviously do not expect to see any information other than location. If I see that someone has checked out my profile on a few occasions, so may send a quick hello if they are local..

 

I am waiting for a new mega site to emerg (I may just build one when I graduate!!). It's been interesting to see the traffic shift from rentboy m4rn, then to Rentboy again. I have been waiting for an increase in traffic from RentMen or m4rn, but it has remained as scarce as it was before Rentboy's demise. Backpage is unfortunately where the traffic is.. And I have no way to track any of it!!! I hope these thoughts help shed some light on things.. Nothing is as black and white as it seems!

I gotta say, Rentmen has quite a few features that annoy me, like emailing me to let me know that a premium member has viewed my profile. My perspective is that if they didn't email me, they aren't interested in scheduling. It can also be frustrating when you see that someone who has proven themselves to be a "time-waster" continually checks out your profile. Again, all of this can be tough to deal with, especially of our business isn't as good as we want it to be. My approach is simply to do all that I can do, and to let go of the rest. I will continue to build my website, my ad, get better images, write, learn and grow and all that i need will come to me. It does seem a majority of guys on rentmen are perhaps just browsing around and enjoying the entertainment, but I'm not gonna let that bring me down.

I'm a tad perplexed by those escorts who get frustrated by seeing that a bunch of people have looked at their ads w/o contacting them. Is this not solely a result of RM providing a feature that merely measures what's always been out there? I assume that on other sites, potential clients browse repeatedly all the time, but the only difference is that the escorts never knew about it. Thanks to the RM feature, escorts will now know who these guys are, at least amongst those clients who log in and have enabled the feature. It sounds like some escorts might be frustrated only because they now have a glimpse into how things have always been.

I like it when signed into RM and and the guy in the profile that I looked at, looks at my profile AND emails me saying something like 'interested in meeting? ' If he doesnt email me, I assume he's not interested.

 

Another reason we should just be called therapists...when clients care whether an escort is "interested" or not...WHAT? :eek:

 

Reasons a good escort would be "not interested":

- Not available during the time you requested (I would respond still)

- Not available in your city for forseeable future (I would respond still)

- You are a known murderer (Would probably still respond)

- You have contacted before and are a time waster/or abusive in some other way (May ignore)

- Not an escort (How did you get their information?)

- Figment of your imagination (snap out of it!)

- You are one of 500 people who looked/liked/viewed/thumbs upped whatever but didnt send a message (only so many hours in a day)

- You ask how much it is to - insert sex act here- ...(please don't)

 

We get a lot of contacts in a day which don't pan out. I wold love to but there not enough time in the day to put the same amount of time/energy/effort into every single impression - otherwise I would never work and spend all day replying to messages. Some people will click and see, some will click and message, but if you are serious initiate the contact...and initiate it well.

I looked at few profiles while logged in and have received a reply from escorts saying that I "messaged" them (which I did not do) and then asked when I wanted to schedule an appointment. That's some marketing, eh?

I wonder if Rentmen sends a message when you look at an escort's ad. Most of the guys who have sent me a message after I checked their ad have said something like "Thank you for checking out my ad. If you have any questions or are interested in booking me, let me know." I find absolutely nothing wrong with that.

The RM site makes a lil techy pop sound real time when I view an ad while signed into my account and my profile shows up on his who saw me list. I don't believe there is an actual message, at least that's how it works on my end.

That was my understanding. However, I'm wondering if escort profiles behave differently than client profiles. I suppose one of us could ask an escort. I might ask a guy that I see fairly frequently. I'm sure he would assist in my research project.
