Just before the RB bust, I happened across an ad for an LA porn star/escort who was visiting my fair city. I was ecstatic to know he was in town and booked a session immediately because he is a favorite fantasy of mine. It was a wonderful experience and I'd hoped to repeat it with others who visit, but now with no RB, it would be hard to know who's in town. I had avoided Backpage because I'd heard law enforcement was trolling the page for escorts and johns, but I couldn't resist contacting a 'massage' ad with very enticing photos last week. I was very circumspect with my request for a 'deep-tissue massage' and totally discrete in my text conversations with the guy who placed the ad. I met him at a motel for the appt and was nervous at first, but when he dropped trou, I knew it wasn't a sting. He was great and when we were dressing, I told him I was worried about law enforcement - he said, "They don't bother us, they just go after the women." I was surprised to hear from him this week, asking if I'd like to come back for 'more'. He said that now he 'knows' me, he's willing to give me 'full access' to anything I want (I'd made a couple requests the first time, which he said were 'off the table'). That's a vote for the 'regulars'!

Let us know if you want to recommend him :)

On craigslist there are so many ads you have to make use of keywords. "Gen" "generous" "donation" etc seem to be the most popular.

At least on backpage they have an escort section.

Has anyone considered advertising on PlanetRomeo? It is great for European escorts. There are some American listings, but not many at this time. Main advantage is that presumably this is not an American company operating on American soil, hence it is out of reach of the Feds.

Knobgobbler, interesting that you're trying to get into the hosting business, but how do you get around the same problem Rentboy had if you're setting up in the U.S.?

Also, you should try to find a simple ".com" ending name (with no numbers, underlines, or symbols). People will rarely go to those alternative ending sites. Yes, the obvious ones with .com are already taken, but you just got to think of alternative names.

For example, "www.MaleLease.com" is available.

Yes I bought the domain name and going to use it as my personal website.

Hahahaha! Speak of the devil! Glad to hear it. And great choice in domain name, btw. I think a lot of people, myself included, were probably looking the opposite direction and trying to find names that were vastly different from our embattled buds at RB, but it's actually pretty clever to leverage that brand recognition and rally the members back under a united RtB banner. You go!

Hell if I know, man. hehe. One thing anyone who knows me can tell you - I'm all about the ideas, the excitement, and the beginnings of things. It's during the execution that I start to see it as work and look for ways to reinvent it so that it's fun and exciting again. I figure RB had a good 18-19 years before the douche descended upon them, so if I have even half their luck I'll have moved the operation to a private island off the coast of Belize or something. lol

Thanks for the feedback on the crazy .work, .club, .xyz endings, too. I'm constantly thinking of names, and when a descent one comes to mind, I try to grab it. I just got a little carried away recently with the novelty of the new ones. It could be fun. We'll see.

WAIT! Do they have rentboys in Belize? I didn't see any there when I went. OMG! I can't live in a place with no pros! I gotta go replan retirement.

I dont understand why facebook isnt acknowleged as the biggest escort site in the planet for escorts with a presence in the adultmovie/porn scene.

If iwanted to hire a porn star i would just hit them up on faceook.

Funny you should say that, Rocky. While Facebook didn't make the top 10, Myspace is right up there at #5 for most popular sites used for prostitution in the US, with Adam4Adam falling way down in 11th place. And here's the published article from Urban Institute, who conducted interviews of sex workers in 8 cities to learn how it was happening.http://i1.wp.com/neworleansknobgobbler.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/toppaidsitesforsexwork.png?zoom=1.5&resize=648%2C343

But it makes sense, really, because it's going on right under everyone's noses on a site so globally ubiquitous, with strictly enforced terms of service prohibiting even the least possibly offensive pubic hair flash of male nudity - or, you know, that little postage stamp sized part of a woman's vagina that's apparently all of her that you can't post into my newsfeed - so it'd be hard to prove that two consenting adults didn't just happen to meet via one of the private groups and just really hit it off. In fact, that also happens all the time. So it's great camouflage for the underground business deals they seem to be conducting.

Whereas RB, M4RN, HB and all these new sites we're talking about are pretty much just standing out there on the cyber corner flagging down cars and screaming out to anyone walking by, "HEY! Watch me charge this guy for an hour of my time while my 9.5-inch cock just happens to be in his mouth for a good portion of that." We've gotten comfortable relying on silly faux legal wording and clever metaphors to protect everyone from a conviction because - "Ha ha, your honor! Technicality, dude! I never offered that guy sex, just my time! BOOM!"

I say "we" because it's not just the sex worker putting himself at risk, but many of us repeat clients get so comfortable and so brazen about the whole thing that it almost becomes a sort of boast. I mean, how many of us here in this forum alone have taken the time to announce on Twitter or transcribe into an escort's public review who we met up with, how well or poorly behaved, and how much like their advertisement they did or didn't look, how much we paid them, and how that 9.5-inch dick managed to do everything we asked it to (or not). It's sometimes easy to forget that we aren't protected from these stupid Puritan laws any more than our sexy counterparts, though they obviously face more severe consequences in most cases. Grrrr - it makes me so mad! Maybe we can get Hillary into office and have her do something about steering the country away from becoming 12th century Europe. It already feels like we've rewound to 1954 in places.

I was actually working on this before the ILLEGAL seizure of Rentboy but I think now is a great time to post it. To my fellow RENTMEN: what other alternatives are u using or contemplating using post RB????? I have used the apps such as Scruff but since RB, Scruff has cracked down on escorts and their ,"wink wink slap you on the wrist," policy is now morphed into "u r banned forever as we HATE escorts." They are now on the same page as silverdaddys.com which is also an anti-escort site. Print seems to be an option here in DC but there are only 3 escort ads in the DC BLADE. Does anyone still hire from print???? The Washingtonian Magazine here in DC has a huge readership and does allow m4m pro massage/companionship ads. Personally I avoid backpage.com like the plague because it is the lair of the undercover detective. Which leaves good ol Craigslist.com. That is where the clients are but you have to weed through 20 to get one good one so it is very time consuming and frustrating.... so any new ideas?? @ www.rentmen.com/mikeyusatop ps...... to clients: where are you finding your new Rentmen these days???

To get around the Scruff issue if you are banned, just uninstall, reinstall and sign up with a different email. It doesn't even need to be a real email address.

Hugs,

Greg

I'd love to hear what clients are doing. Are many of you guys who used to use rentboy a lot browsing other sites? Or are a lot of you taking a break from hiring new guys for the moment?

I switched to rentmen and men4rent to browse. However, even through I hire a lot I don't hire many escorts. At the moment I am only hiring my regular escort. I will not hire a different escort until Jan at the very earliest.

I'm also constantly checking local new/police feeds to make sure no one I have hired has been arrested.

Facebook has 'secret' groups. I am a member of a couple of secret gay groups for hosting parties. It would seem to me an enterprising couple of escorts would get together and simply create the "Secret RentBoy Group" on facebook, and invite porn stars and rentboys with a facebook presence into the group, and then invite there regular customers to join....the only problem of course is that what is the chance someone is going to direct an existing or potential client to a secret group full of other escorts...lol.

But does scruff actually work for advertising as escort? I've dithered around with it on grinder here and there, but only once did it lead anywhere...and the guys I did come across who were interested always ended up digressing to "why can't we just have fun, I'm generous with my ass..."

I'd rather do Craigslist than some of these phone apps. But if only they'd take the stick out their fucking asses for once, I think the phone app thing would be a great adam4adam alternative. Hell, they let guys advertise for free on there, they would make more money charging $30 a month to have a pro ad.

Most all the guys on those sites get around. How many times have I come across someone, went on a couple dates, and later find out they're fucking or trying to fuck, someone I know? I don't know why these sites try to play this holy, social media front....and escorting is so bad....when hookups is what's keeping them afloat to begin with.

I'm over the hypocritical nonsense in this country.

Hookups are one thing. I don't see all but the most conservative folks getting bent out of shape over that, especially between two guys. (There's still a debate over whether hookups are bad for women. Sigh.) It's when money gets introduced that everyone freaks out.

As terrible and exploitative as the sexual culture in Asia has been and to a great extent still is, at least at the societal level (though not at the legal level) there is a recognition of the usefulness and value of sex work rather than the knee-jerk moral condemnation common in the West. Religious differences (Buddhist precepts prohibit sexual misconduct, not sexual activity) and recognition that sex has value for its own sake most likely account for this.

I've made a conscious decision to be citymonogamus - one special professional in every city I visit. Spare me the sailor jokes, kids! Ive been around enough to know who are the well-reviewed, solid professionals and when in doubt, Daddy is my default BS barometer. Since the RB debacle, I've also come to schedule more in advance to guarantee availability with my portfolio plus these companions know I'm the real deal and clear their schedule if they can. Only problem is cities like NYC and LA....soooo many new choices, but if you are loyal repeat customer, I find it companions not only keep it spicy but the level of friendship grows. It is also VERY important to know yourself and realize these are not romantic liaisons but a professional arrangement with a "few good men" to avoid the new age of raiding and invasion of privacy. PS - I'm currently taking applications for Charlotte and San Diego And my NYC guy got hitched! Help!

That is not necessarily true. You need to think outside the box. If someone lists their massage rates at $250 or $300 per hour for instance, knowledgeable clients will know what the 'deal' is.

You are not a masseur. But you could be an escort advertising as a masseur to circumvent certain 'legalities'.

Nope. Not interested. I don't need to think outside of anything. Communication is complex enough. No need to add yet another item in the back-and-forth convo.
