Interesting. Although I'm relatively new, this is the first time I've heard someone opine that Houston is a better market than LA.

I saw 12 people in one day in Houston Houston is inching up on Chicago in terms of being the 3rd biggest city in the United States. Now, let me just say...even though my client volume wasn't as expected in on my last visit to L.A., I did have other memorable experiences. 3 years ago, My first time in L.A. I had 2 clients in 2 hours. I was California dreaming. But that was all I got for the whole 3 day trip. I also did 2 model shoots, and the second trip I met a guy within 10 minutes in a west Hollywood bar...so had a hot, rich friend for 7 days wining and dining me all over town lol. That's very hard to find in most cities, as most guys are cheap these days. But LA has a Large population of Armenians and they are far more generous than we stingy ass Americans.

 

Now Houston, I have nothing comparably memorable. I've met clients in Houston, but the sheer bigotry there makes it hard for a man of color to make it in that market. Most all clients in Houston were visitors. Some say Houston is like LA by the gulf. But LA isn't as redneck as Houston, so they'll NEVER be alike. I rather deal with Salt Lake City Mormans over Houston Hicks any day.

With all due respect, but seeing 12 clients in one day? The logistics of it are staggering, even if these were all incalls at one hour each. Even though your stamina may be phenomenal, I am glad I am not client #12 ...

I was making a point, my intent was never to turn anyone on or off. Yes I saw 12 people in one day! I started early as finished late, this is "ask an escort" right? I'm sorry my candor turned you off. When a guy comes to a city to work, the goal is to maximize profits, being booked to capacity is a good thing. As I stated earlier, it's a good thing clients in a day want different things. It would be nice to think that if a guy came to your city Barronartz that you were his only booking for the day but if that were the case it's doubtful he'd be coming back to your city if he could only see one a day. For the record, the first and last client are treated with the same enthusiasm and energy, unless you've been with me, it's not even arguable. When I still ran ads, my ad usually came down a day after arriving to a city and yes, I did deny appointments due to my bookings.

First off, thank you for saying that BaronArtz. You have to realize that was a one time occurrence, a record for me that I have no intention of ever trying to beat or "top" lol It was my first trip to Houston. On a side note there have been many times where I saw multiple people in a day, where I quit relatively early in a day and the email requests to see me still kept coming... If I was tired from a lack of good sleep, sore from the gym, whatever the case may have been where I replied in all honesty that I'm done for the day simply because I am tired and it would not be fair to a client to see them in that condition. I have said that on many occasions, I listen to my body and will only see people when I could give them my best.

Seriously though, I've known Vin for some years now and he has never made me feel like a number, ever! And if it really matters (I know it does to some), just do what I did. When I had more time to see him, when I knew in advance he was coming, I'd let him know I wanted to be the person he saw. He would go out of his way to make it happen. Those were the days!!!

Well, I've mentioned earlier that L.A. provided me with some unique experiences during my 2 visits. It's not a bad place, it's just overrated. I meet guys all the time from other cities dreaming and running off to L.A., but surely that's not the only city in California to make it unless you're going for showbiz/talent.

 

That said, discussion Houston and questioning someone's ability to see 12 clients a day is kinda taking us off topic. Let's stay relevant here.
