For me, it does not speak well for you to be that focused on demeaning another and for you to continue to take the bait. And yes, Killian is exactly right, Juan's responses are subtle, but to the point, but I also understand that not everyone has Juan's demeanor, or Killian's wit, so I do understand when you say it's time to go. As a friend of mine used to always say, "If you don't like the story, turn the page"....I hope that you check in with us from time to time. there is no need to make this departure so final. I can't think of a discussion site I've been on where I haven't been either annoyed or downright disgusted by the posts and/or general outlook of one or more members. That's just how it is. I've never let any one person dictate my own right to post and be part of that community on my own terms. You always have the right to not read/respond to people you don't agree with. From my perspective, Steve, you're letting Mr. Draker win by forfeiting your own right to be here...which surely is not what you want as a result. I hope you reconsider.

I am so sorry to read this, man. I can really empathize and can only imagine how tiresome this might be for you. Something that really helps me whenever I witness deliberate meanness or when it is directed at me is to remember that sadly with the advent of reality television shows rudeness, abusive behaviour and vicious attacks have not only been normalized, but celebrated for their high entertainment value.

 

It's not you. It's not the bully, it is the culture we live in. It's not personal.

 

This is specially true when we can hide behind our keyboard without seeing the actual effect our words have in others; it's so easy to dehumanize the other and learn to perceive the bullying as just an entertaining game with a fictitious character. But you are not a character, you are a human being with feelings and a life to be lived fully.

 

Sadly cyberbullies seem to enjoy the war of attrition they wage against their victims, seeing their victim broken little by little over a long period of time brings them enormous pleasure. My wish is that you were able to completely ignore and deflect the attacks, because if you are not hurt, it is not fun for the bully. In reality, though, I know keeping your cool might be a real challenge, so I hope you will be taking care of yourself by removing yourself from the situation.

 

I wish you the best in your ventures, and if you come back once you licked your wounds, we will all be glad to see you.

Firstly, thank you to everyone for the posts. No I am not coming back here to post, except to post tours or news about being in Turkey.

You stopped responding............right wasn't it you put the dog meme on The Old Chestnut. You claimed anyone not taking an oral hiv test had something to hide. You were thoroughly nasty to Juan. Even Deej pulled you about three weeks ago because you'd been doing report to moderator posts questioning why anyone would post on here with all the attacks, yet you were doing just that again.......yourself.

 

You've got something missing upstairs mate. You're just a loony tune and you make my life a misery and so I'd rather cut out the Belgian Chocolate because it has a bitter taste and a sting in it's tale.

 

You've got serious mental health issues and you make other people unwell. I am sick to death of your snide remarks to me and others. It affects me when you're horrible to others and there are hundreds of instances, from the crack den to what was highlighted on jawjatech's excellent blog about you and your unfaltering nastyness.
