You asked for it. You got it. Sort of.

A second hand report of the new Johnny's... I did not go myself. But my source did. I'll just say he's a Beautiful Vivacious Brute... I call him BVB for short. :)

My secret (yeah right) source says it's the same floor plan as the old place with new paint. Same boys but there's a small outside patio. There is NOT continuous dancing. The boys can only dance on stage TWICE per night.

And are you ready for this? NO PRIVATE DANCES.

Uh, welcome to Starbucks... no sorry, we don't have coffee anymore.

My secret source gives the place a 5 out of 10.

The boys taking to the stage only twice per night is not a deal breaker, as long as they circulate to keep us customers happy. I'm wondering what the Platinum VIP Rooms are all about. NO private dances at so much per song? Wow ... Boardwalk keeps looking better. Looking forward to a detailed first hand report. Maybe they are keeping low key for now.

Soooo I went to the new Johnny's (calling it Le Boy kinda creeps me out) last night, Sunday, and here is my report...

1. First things first, there ARE private rooms. They are to the left of the main stage, through the curtain under the "employees only" sign. One of the dancers said they are trying to downplay the private rooms. I'm assuming it's because management doesn't want undercover cops figuring out what really happens in those rooms. Anyway, there are about 6 rooms, probably 2-3 times the size of the old private rooms. The one went to basically has a small bed with a curtain. I noticed another room had an oversized chair.

2. The dancers. Granted it was a Sunday night so it really wasn't too busy. I'd say there were about 10 dancers and 2-3 of those were new. None really peaked my interest - mostly twinks, skinny/lean body types. Mostly Hispanic, 1-2 black guys. One of the dancers told me it was really busy on Friday and Saturday. And he even told me he left early because it was too crowded. Conventional wisdom tells me he'd make more money when its busy but whatever. Maybe that's what is wrong with the dancers - they rather dance instead of making money! I do hope they start hiring more attractive, muscled guys but we'll see. I arrived around 10:15 and one of the shows had already started. Each dancer is called to the stage, does his routine and on to the next one. I'd say it lasted about 45 mins. Once the show part was over, some of the dancers went to the stage on their own, or walked around.

3. The layout is very similar to the old club - imagine the same room with the dancers but no adjacent room with pool tables. There is a pole to the right when you walk in, rectangular bar in the middle and stage in the back. There is a good sized outdoor patio with seating around the bar. It's alot cleaner and less sketchier than the old club. Overall the club is not a big space. Apparently there is "never a cover" which is different from the old club and valet is $3 instead of $5 previously. I was surprised at how close the bar is to homes and residential areas. A row of houses starts literally in front of the entrance. I'd have to imagine neighbors can hear the music and/or the valet guys talking loudly outside. Its probably only a matter of time before neighbors complain. Oh, and the PLatinum VIP room is for bottle service, $100 an hour where "anything goes" per the bartender.

I think I covered most of it. I think the club has potential as long as they hire some hotter dancers :D

Thank you !! The only reason I ever went was to find a hot guy for private so happy to hear they still have them. Do most of them escort on the side?

Yes.

At the old Johnnys the private dance rooms were where the boys would earn some $$. I don't see a lot of guys dropping $100 a wack to have private dance room. How do they expect the boys to make extra $$ especially if they don't leave the building? Too bad, it was nice to do a private for $25/50 and see how interactive the dancer might be, but $100 is a lot of dollars, especially if you would like to test out or play with a couple of boys.

So .... are there private dance rooms at (so much) per song, AND the VIP Platinum rooms?

Correct - sorry if I wasn't clear. There are about 6 private rooms just like the old Johnny's (3 walls and a curtain). I'd say the new ones are more private, off to the back of the club. In addition, there is a platinum VIP room which is a real room with 4 walls. That room is $100 and located in a different part of the club (compared to where the 6 private rooms are). I'm assuming Le Boy is marketing that for birthday celebrations, etc (with bottle service) in addition to simply using that room for a private dance.

There is a picture of the platinum VIP room on their Instagram page: http://instagram.com/leboytonight/

How many boys have been at the new club compared to the old club. Are most still twinks. Inquiring minds need to know!!!! Any updates on the new club. Thanks

All twinks, except for a couple of muscle twinks, (depending on your definition) He didn't take everyone from the old club. Some of the boys went to the Boardwalk. I'm not a twink fan, but the guys seem to be better quality. I've gone a couple of times since the grand opening. Personally the only thing I like better is the patio with the outside bar. Alex is bar-tending outside, and I really go only to see him, and you can get away from the smoke and the loud music out there. The guy that served food in the cart in the parking lot at the old place, is going to be moved to the back patio, so at least customers will have something to munch on late in the evening.

He obviously has not spent a lot of money on the renovations, but it is better than the old location. So far I am not really impressed.

FYI...for all you 'out-of-towners'...when coming and going around Le Boy, observe all the speed limits. Period...35mph means 35mph, especially on NE 13th street which runs past Le Boy, and on N Andrews, and any and all streets leading in and out of Wilton Manors. A few mph over the limit will get you pulled over, and if you've had a couple of drinks...well... FTL has a zero tolerance after dark.

For those that desire an update on Le Boy, the boys are now dancing continuously, just like the old place. No more two shows a night. And for those members who hated the loud music and the cigarette smoke, both have improved dramatically. The volume of the music is way down and there was very little cigarette smoke in the main lounge area. Most smokers are going to the patio and probably a much improved ventilation system helps.

All the drama from the grand opening has clearly died down, and the place seems to be settling into a fairly manageable place to visit. Parking is not a problem. Ample parking for 3 dollars in the side lot, and on the outside there wasn't any noticeable noise from the club that would disturb the neighbors. Fingers crossed.

And of the boys that are there, seem to be of a higher quality. Chatted briefly with a kid named Charles and a new Russian kid (more beefy than the others) both seemed nice, and were very attentive, unlike some of the dancers at the old place.

Sean as asked the bartenders to keep their shirts on (black long sleeve with suspenders). He wants a uniform look and a more upscale kind of club...might work, we'll see if that holds when the summer hits.

Lastly....The Boardwalk gets a much needed face lift next month.

Thanks for the update. I suspected (hoped?) that things would improve once they got through the opening days with the neighbors. And I'm really happy to hear that the smoke and noise problems have abated.
