The LA Times is reporting that actor Shia LaBeouf has been arrested in New York for being disruptive at a performance of the musical Cabaret at Studio 54.

"People in attendance said on Twitter that he was being highly disruptive during the show at Studio 54."

Variety reports: "LaBeouf was charged him with two counts of disorderly conduct and one count of criminal trespassing.

Police say the “Transformers” actor was smoking in the theater and being disruptive during the first act of the Tony-nominated play, which stars Michelle Williams and Alan Cumming. Law enforcement officials then handcuffed him during intermission and escorted him out of Studio 54.

Tony-nominee Benj Pasek tweeted that he saw LaBeouf in tears outside of the venue in New York."

My instinct is to say that he has burned his bridges, but I am not sure celebrities can do that anymore. He does have a new movie out.

I tend to agree. I think that it is something that we just come to expect. It appears that Young Bieber's fan certainly have given him a pass on his behavior. He just landed in BH, and already is causing trouble.

Roid rage?

...drug or mental issues

What about too much alcohol on an empty stomach?

"Well, alcohol sure would explain a lot!

Shia LaBeouf went totally nutso last night in New York, so much he got arrested. And now we're getting a little more info about why he might've let loose in such a wild way.

It seems he WAS drinking. People at Iguana NYC have confirmed that he came there to watch some World Cup action.

He was at the bar to watch Belgium's World Cup soccer match against South Korea, as he supposedly commented that he felt like he should support Belgium since his family is from there.

He reportedly ordered 2-3 margaritas and paced himself as he drank. However, he apparently didn't eat any food! And while they say he behaved normally and was nice to everyone while he enjoyed his time there for about 2 hours, he was drinking on no food.

And anyone who has indulged in the liquor gods before KNOWS that you've gotta eat and tame the beast!

Unfortunately, it seems later in the day after his first bar visit, Shia reportedly showed up at Three Monkeys bar where he DID appear intoxicated.

He supposedly yelled and pointed at a random woman, and eventually he calmed down and went back to chain-smoking.

We're not sure what happened between when he left the first bar and appeared at the second one, but we're guessing it had everything to do with him being hungry! Hunger is an evil beast!"

Goodness knows he is not the first one to have handcuffs slipped on at Studio 54, though he may be the first one for whom the police were called to do it.

That was a different Studio 54, one that closed many many years ago.

It's a race to the finish: Franco or LeBeouf. Who ends up in a gutter dead of a drug overdose first?

The sad part is, LaBeouf doesn't really seem to have much of a career to speak of - he's gotten a lot of his attention from being difficult and from incidents like this. I tend to see him as an anti-celebrity, like Kardashian - all their "fame" is based on notoriety rather than actually having done something notable in the entertainment field.

And I've heard plenty of speculation that this was a calculated attempt to get some attention for himself, given his conspicuous absence from the new Transformers movie...again, it seems he can only manage to get negative attention.

I really hope he gets help. But I somehow doubt he will...

Would someone please explain the appeal of this guy to me? I just don't see the attraction.

He's barely talented as an actor. Not that much to look at IMHO. Has hygiene challenges from time to time. And he's made comments of having a nascent sexual attraction to his mother. Plus, even for an actor, his narcissism is off the charts.

Who knows. He was touted as the "next big thing" about a decade ago and made a ton of very high profile movies and lots of respected directors wanted to work with him. I never thought he was very good and his twinky arrogant persona was a turn off. I think the "jig is up" as they say and now he's self destructing.

But it's possible that among stars of his age he has more big box office hits than anyone and that's horrid to contemplate.
