Folsom East 2014

This is a continuation of a discussion that was started in the "Give 'em the Boot" thread. I thought it would be best to continue the discussion here as the title would attract others who might be interested in hearing about the festival. It would be great to get input and thoughts from those who did attend.

 

I often consider attending Folsom, but have never done it. From reviews/reports/videos/photos of the event, I can only imagine the total immersion in sensory overload that occurs there. I agree with you, Whipped Guy, it would take a lot of restraint for me to now grope the various body parts on display. But then again, isn't that why the guys display their "ass-ets"?

Folsom East is small potatoes compared to the original... I have not been to the original Folsom, but based on photos the NYC version is on a much smaller scale. Actually the space was way too small to accommodate all that attended. When we first arrived things were reasonably comfortable, but as more and more humanity was jammed into what is in reality a quite extensive city block on 27th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues, the space was not expansive enough to comfortably accommodate all the crush of bodies that were attempting to view the various exhibits. The highlight was a flogging demo by Master Taino... and a good friend was among those who volunteered. In retrospect I regret not having volunteered as well... but I was getting myself in Dom mode for later that evening at the NYBC Post-Folsom Party... but it was a lost opportunity to be flogged by the best. Still, I did get a quick pointer from him regarding a specific method of swinging a flogger so all was not lost.

 

I doubt that a larger area can be found to accommodate NYC's version of Folsom... Consequently, the plan for next year will be to get there a bit earlier so as to be able to check things out comfortably prior to the rush...

I can certainly understand. I was watching a Bound Gods video the other night, and was struck by the fact of how difficult it must be to be the Dom. Numerous thing to think about and be concerned with all at once. So glad that you had a good time...

BVB... You are so right about the role of the Dom being a difficult job. By the end of the evening at the NYBC I was totally spent... I was dripping in sweat. My arms were totally worn out... not to mention my left shoulder. Fortunately I'm right-handed. I was attempting to do some Florentine flogging at the end of the night as it works well for cooling down the sub, but my arms were so exhausted and my left shoulder so sore that I was unable to coordinate the somewhat complex moves that were involved. It was totally frustrating since I also use that technique as a warm up and I had no problems with the motions at the beginning of the evening.

 

As we were leaving we met and spoke with Phen (one of the club owners) outside and he told us that it was too early to leave as they were having extended play hours that evening. Unfortunately I had had it...

As for having lots of things upon which to concentrate, that is one of the challenges when playing the dom. One needs to keep an eye not only on the sub, but one must also make sure that no bystanders are getting too close to the action. A further problem concerns the fact that the lighting is way too dim at the club... not to mention that one is often distracted by other scenes taking place in the vicinity. Plus, there's the porn playing on the TV sets that are positioned throughout the venue.

 

So it was exhausting and a bit challenging, but still it was great time!!! Wish I could do it more often!!!

Wow WG...you weren't kidding about the crowds, and the need for a larger venue, but looking at the picture I can't help but think that there is something very erotic about being that close to all those hot men. Working your way through that crowd must have been memorable. And if the pic of the two guys is any indication of the crowd, well then I would imagine it was one helluva weekend. All in all it looked amazing. So glad you had fun, and thanks for the update.

Well, as I mentioned in the "Give 'em the boot" thread it took a lot of restraint not to grope all those firm butts exposed by those assess chaps. Plus, not only were a few escorts seen, but Lucas as always had a booth. Their guys were all inked so as to identify them. One of whom was at the party at the NYBC that evening...

Thanks for the additional pics WG. It is one helluva way to start my day. Heading to NYC in a few weeks for a little weekend romp, and I was excited about going, till I saw your pics and realized what I have missed. Looks like I have chosen the wrong weekend. LOL Again, so glad that you had such a fantastic time....

 

I will say that every now and again, when I see an event like this, I am still amazed how far gay rights have come in this country, and that events like this can even take place without the backlash that so often occurred in the past. Happy 4th to ya....

WOW!!! You just made my day!!! The chest is better than I would have imagined, and you can see the back of the Sub much better in this pic. God I don't know how the Sub takes that. Gotta run off for the 4th, so if I don't chat with you, have a great great holiday. Cheers my friend.
