Edgarde, the majority (2/3) owner of Sauna Lagoa died two days ago.

Lagoa's 1/3 owner, did not order the sauna closed out of respect for the deceased 2/3 owner.

It is a known fact that Edgarde was disliked by most clients and rent-boys. Nonetheless, he was one of the owners who was often in attendance at the sauna. He was instrumental in enforcing rules that made the sauna run well and made the place comfortable for most visitors.

Lagoa's 1/3 owner, true to form, scolded sauna employees for disclosing to garotos and to clients that Edgarde had died. Furthermore, the minority interest owner made it clear to the employees that he is now the sole owner of the sauna.

The minority interest owner is incorrect about being the “sole” owner of the sauna. The heirs of Edgarde own Edgarde’s 2/3 interest and who knows what will happen to Lagoa now that Edgarde is not around to run the place.

The minority interest owner, over the years, has not demonstrated that he can run a hot dog stand much less a sauna.

The minority interest owner is the person who insisted that garotos pay a fee to enter the sauna. At one time, the fee was R$20 but it has now dropped to R$15. The entrance fee for garotos keeps some potential garotos away from the sauna because the garotos do not have the R$15 to spare. There is no guaranty that the garotos will meet a client at the sauna which will allow the garoto to recoup his R$15 entrance fee. For reasons that make no sense, the minority interest owner continues to insist that garotos pay the entrance fee even though it often means that many clients will not visit the sauna due to an insufficient quantity of available garotos.

It will be interesting to see how the death of Edgarde will affect the long-term survival of sauna Lagoa.

Sauna Lagoa is the only remaining “rent-boy” sauna in Sao Paulo that usually has a good turnout of available garotos. Sauna Fragata has declined and often lacks a viable selection of garotos.

Let us see how sauna Lagoa either improves or further declines due to the death of Edgarde.
