Does anybody use this site successfully in Europe? It seems clunky and outdated. Is it what guys use over there?

A couple of guys here suggested I check it out for my upcoming Istanbul trip. I found a smorgasbord of escorts, far more than on the likes of Rentmen or Rentboy. It is very outdated, but seems to be most effective venue to disseminate info for the time being. Of course, the jury's out until I actually meet the fellow I selected.

I always use GayRomeo when outside of the US/Canada. That along with other local/regional sites serves one well in Europe/South America/Rest of world. For some reason, Gayromeo is not at all good for North America where Rentboy is much stronger.

I use gayromeo a lot. Always when I am in Europe or the eastern mediterranean. I find it very friendly and useful and I like the "advert" feature which has worked well for me in Turkey, Jordan, Russia, Poland , Paris. and I really don't see why every American escort doesn't have one of their free accounts. Oh, just checked my gayromeo account here in the states. Somebody is visiting from France. Gotta go.

My pleasure. I'll report when I return. but it really does seem to be the way to go, especially in Eastern Europe, the Middle East, even Asia and Africa (just beware the instant boyfriend requests from Ghana, the Philippines, etc)

As a client, I check Gay Romeo whenever I'm traveling in Europe and my experience has been hit or miss with a fairly low reply rate. But then, the same can be said of RentBoy, etc. GR takes some getting used to, the full pages often have links to many more pictures on the left-hand bar, and some of the comments are a hoot. I've never explored it, but many of the guys seem to also offer a B&B service. The biggest mistake people make is that when one searches the "ONLINE NOW" box is checked by default, you need to uncheck it to see the full list of escorts in the area. Also, a nice feature is that is you save someone a box at the bottom of the page when you login will show you which of your favorites are currently online.

Dear Ace, I think that you have provoked a useful discussion. I am assuming from your posting of your European schedule that you will be working there. When you have your escort gayromeo name, can you share it with us? Gayromeo keeps outsiders from invading their space by blocking links from people who are not signed in (so you cannot post a link, but you can give us your name). Having fewer escorts in a site (like Scandinavia) can cut both ways. It suggests a smaller market, but you show up more quickly. I think that Steven Draker can give all the ins and outs of what to expect and how to use it, but in a market like Spain, you could consider a “Premium” membership. However Ibiza has only about 30 escorts (in May), so you should show up well without adding a premium — unless 400 more escorts show up in Ibiza in June. As a client, it has worked well for me.

Thanks, man. I'll definitely get it set up sometime this week and let you know. I have talked to some guys over there now and think they all use their own site in each different country for hookups, so it is probably the same with clients. Will be fun testing it, anyway.

Ace, when it is set up, you might consider asking some of your regulars to enter a comment in the "guestbook". Good commentary there greatly adds to confidence in hiring off gayromeo. You will also probably get a few 'nutty' comments from some of the 'usual suspect' posters. They have stock graphics that they spread about—but they are harmless.

In general there aren't many escort profiles in the Scandinavian countries comparing to the rest of Europe.

 

I had both GayRomeo Star profile and Gaydar commercial profile for Stockholm and Copenhagen and the vast majority of the business came from GayRomeo. Go for it!

Gayromeo has been Planetromeo for some time now.

 

Has it changed that they no longer have a escort or guide section?

They just changed their imterface, @Oaktown, making it more cluttered and, in my opinion, more difficult to navigate. Go to classic.planetromeo.com which is the usual site.
