Today I received the following question:

I figured you might know the answer to this question. Is boyscort.com for real? I rarely book but in the past I have used your site in concert with sites like Men4rentnow, rentboy, rentmen when looking for individuals. I recently came across boyscort. It seems to have a ton of listing but it is also suspect in that they pretty much all have that you can find me on gCruise message at the bottom. One of my regular, guys I see is listed there and I haven't had a chance to ask him about it. So I am torn between if it is a scam site or an actually site like rentboy and men4rentnow. I looked in the forum of your site and I really didn't find anything when I did a search.

I've received four reviews that mention boyscort, three positive and one negative so I decide that I would take a closer look. The first thing that was interesting was then when I visited the site, it immediately picked up that I was in the Seattle area and it reported that there was 317 escorts in the area.

As reported each of the listings had a pointer towards gCruise. Clicking any listing at gCruise requires that you fill out a "Profile" so I back away from that very quickly.

While going through the boyscort listings I notice a picture that was a very familiar; One that I had noticed on the Seattle Backpage MaleEscorts listing:

That matched exactly the boyscort listing:

Makes me wonder who's doing what to whom?

They're one of a few sites scraping ads off of Backpage. They have separate URLs for female escorts and massage ads. The scam is the same -- to use someone else's ad content to create hits off of Google searches, leading you to gGruise and thus increasing their own traffic. Boyscort often comes up when I'm searching by phone number to verify escort and masseur ads. Back in the good old days of Craigslist adult services there were similar sites scouring the CL escort ads.

Interesting. I just looked at the Chicago listing for backpage and the Chicago listing for the other site and both sites have the same guys listed. I would be very careful. If it smells fishy don't eat it.

Hugs,

Greg

I just perused what's in the San Francisco Bay Area and noted the same photos and ads have and are appearing at http://www.backpage.com {San Francisco} as well. Thanks Daddy for the thread.

There is nothing fishy about this boyscort.com website. It's an escort ads aggregator from backpage & craigslist as stated in all of its page titles "[city name here] Male Escorts at Boyscort.com - Backpage and Craigslist Male Escorts. Young Boys and Muscular Men all listed here and easy to search for incalls out calls cut and uncut prettyboi and masculine". As long as you don't click on the gCruise links, iHookup links, you have nothing to worry about. Those ad-links are very obvious. There is also a posting date on every ads so you know if it's an old ad or a recently posted one.

boyscort.com keeps ads for several years, so if you have time, you can do serious research on a guy using data from this site before hiring. His pricing pattern... His googleable pics... The pics he's been using these past 5 years... all available from boyscort.com

Interesting. I don't see the text you quoted on any of the pages I've looked at. How about a link?

That string is in the title bar where you typically find the maximize, minimize and close button.

In the example above says: "206-473-2905: New to this 20" So I'm kinda confused.

If I were craigslist or backpage, I'd be giving them DMCA notices as it appears to be at the very least a violation backpage terms of service (craigslist no longer carries such ads):

"Copyright and Trademarks:

All materials on the Site, including without limitation, logos, images, text, illustrations, audio and video files are protected by copyrights, trademarks, service marks, or other proprietary rights which are either owned by or licensed to the Site or owned by other parties who have posted on the Site. Materials from the Site and from any other web site owned, operated, controlled, or licensed by the Site may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted, or distributed in any way."

In my browser, I only see the first few words, but I see you're talking about the html page titles - which vary a bit.

On the site homepage, it says "Male Escorts at Boyscort.com - Gay Escorts, Male strippers, massages. Backpage and Craigslist Alternative - Escorts and adult fun in your area".
