Coming to gay sex late in life I've tried to make up for lost time and have lots of interesting experiences. Since the beginning, guys have always wanted me to ram my arm up their ass...sometimes a couple simultaneously. So, I'm no newbie there and find it hot. Poppers are always involved and I'm cool with that. However, this guy last night was huffing head cleaner from a spray bottle applied to a towel. He literally started speaking in tongues and seemed to have some sort of out-of-body experience like he was at a Church of Christ revival. Is it normal with that stuff?? I don't suppose it's dangerous to him, but I don't want to have to call 911 when he has a stroke, or something.

FYI...it IS dangerous - in he same way that huffing gas or glue can be dangerous, especially if other drugs are involved or the person doing it has other underlying cardiac issues. That said, he may go a lifetime without a bad response, or, he could have a catastrophe next week. Be careful...A

He seems healthy enough on the surface, but I guess you never know what's really going on with somebody in situation like this. He seems to want this type of thing regularly now (our second meeting), so I guess I just need to have a conversation with him about it. THANKS!

I'm guessing your client was using Maximum Impact or something similar. The active ingredient is ethyl chloride. Here's a link to a wikipedia article on the topic:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chloroethane

In my opinion, if you have concerns about the substances a client is using you shoul express the concerns and decide whether you wish to pursue a future appointment with the client.

Don't mix poppers and ED pills

Yep...that was the brand name on the outside...silver bottle with black lettering. Looks like we will have the conversation.

Thanks

Just a public service announcement not to mix poppers (or probably this other stuff) with viagra et al. It can cause cardiac arrest. Not everyone knows that so I try to bring it up when the subject of poppers comes up.

Hey AB. After reading many of your posts, I realized that you are a very concerned gentleman who really does not like to take a chance on offending a client. In a case like this, you really owe it to the client and yourself to discuss this. In a simiar situation, a working guy that I have become friendly with, tod me about the scariest occurence he ever had in his years of escorting. He was with a cient who suddeny became very ill and he had to give him strong medicine to bascally save his ife. He was scared shitless. Only reason I bring it up is because you could end up in a similar situation and i'm sure you and your many admirers would not want that

Continue being the super guy you appear to be

Thanks, Bill-

Kind of you. I'm definitely not wanting a bad situation with something like that. Would definitely put a damper on the fun I'm having!....LOL

Best to you

Ace

Ace,

I am sorry to say that this client of yours is just a disaster waiting to happen. You have gotten a lot of good advise and information in the posts above. I would only add that I personally know of a client who died as a result of using one of those "poppers" or inhalent. It was difficult for the escort to explain what happened !!!!! I also know a couple of escorts who developed some serious health issues from using this stuff. Some one can be young and healthy, but using this stuff over a period of time will result in significant health issues. You may be better off finding a different client who does not use this stuff. You don't want to be caught in the middle of the mess that this can create.

I too personally know of someone who died of the poppers/viagra combo. Guy in his 40s, found face down in his bed, and the guy he was with fled without calling for any help. Toxicology and evidence in the house suggested cause of death. Poppers are so common, but each time if the guy is using poppers I ask him if he's taken a dick pill just in case.

I've learned through experience to steer clear of situations where there are drugs or excessive use of poppers (particularly the spray stuff). A bit of popper use is fine, but I've found I've had too many bad experiences with clients using the spray stuff.

Avoiding these situations is not judgement, it's purely risk-management from a professional standpoint. If substances are involved, there is way more potential for crazy drama, not getting paid, or worse... injury or violence. At the very least I've found when the client has been mentally incapacitated in some way, I leave the appointment feeling lousy.

I definitely think you should have the talk with the guy, and if he resists decide if this is a situation you want to be in again. I think as escorts we like to please and be accommodating to requests, but it's also good to practice saying "no" firmly and decisively when your intuition tells you it's not a good situation. At least in my experience it seems it makes a difference in reducing the odds of it being a bad appointment.

Ace--I'm not chastising you. But did you really not know this? I thought it was common knowledge. Every doctor who prescribes these should tell their patients. Of course if guys are gettting them online from who knows where, then I could see how the warning might not be passed on.

To tell you the truth--i've neve really used them. I think the one time someone --a long time ago when I was bit less naive than I am am now-stuck one under my nose and got me to smell it, I think it gave me a headache. I don't like that head rush feeling--it was the same feeling I remember feeling the one time I took a dip of Skoal in college--you know just a pinch between your cheek and your gum for the full tobacco pleasure without lighting up--and the one time I had a "whip-it" or something close to it in grad school.

Although I'm an escort, I'm not a complete dumb-ass. I know huffing anything stronger than a good cup of Joe isn't good for you. That being said, I've never taken anything stronger than Advil and I never will. I've never been around a drug culture and don't have the need for an altered state. I'm not scared of it, either, though. We are all big boys here, in control of our own actions. What one does to fuck up their life is ultimately their responsibility. However, I refuse to be affected if I can help it. I think we've established that a concersation is due when the guy calls for another appointment.

Thanks

I'm not sure how common this knowledge is. When I've got a prescription for Viagra or Levitra from my doctor he has not said anything about the risk of using them with poppers. Maybe he thinks I already know. Then when you go to the pharmacy to pick them up they ask if you have any questions for the pharmacist, but can just say no, then word might not get to someone. Or maybe I'm the last to know! :-)

I've had prescriptions for Viagra, Cialis, and Levitra and every time the bottle has a red sticker warning against using with substances that contain nitrates. If memory serves correctly, the drug information sheet from Wal-Mart specifically called out "poppers." (Their quotes) Time to change pharmacies, perhaps?

Pharmacies do vary enormously in the information provided. My Cialis bottle has no warning labels.

But I have notticed different warning/information labels attached to the same Rx filled at different stores in the same chain (e.g., CVS).

My apologies- did not mean in anyway to insinuate you or anyone one else was a dumb-ass. In fact if you knew my life, you'd know I have no room to make any sort of judgments like that.

my first reaction was to laugh my ass off which I did. I thought I had seen it all but my dick or a clients' drug usage has never induced glossolallia which is the theological word for speaking in tongues. (I used to be a Pentecostal preacher). But this is a very serious situation! My BIGGEST fear has always been a client dying on me. Can you imagine the police report or the article in the paper......" murder weapon was a male escort named Mikeys nine inch long penis......." seriously as I posted in my , "vanilla" thread: can't we just get back to some basic and healthy sucking, kissing and fucking (safely, sanely and soberly)??? http://www.rentmen.com/mikeyusatop

Thanks TN! Really appreciate that more than you know. You are such the fine gentleman yourself and I enjoyed meeting you, too. You have excellent taste in men, btw!!

Hey Mikey, good point. Hey Ace Banner, your pictures are fine but there is nothing like meeting you in person like I did this weekend and enjoying that great smile and warm personality.
