Earlier today I read an email from a Brit friend who hired in Las Vegas from http://www.backpage.com. Apparently he had a wonderful experience with the escort, for he advised that this website

is the only one that he uses while he's in that city. I went and viewed the men who are in San Francisco. I liked their ads overall. Have any of you engaged the services of men who advertise

at this particular website? Was your overall experience worth while, genuine, valid? This man would appreciate knowing! Perhaps your response would help all of us!

This subject keeps coming up, and there is always mixed opinions. I personally have never hired from BP and I doubt that I ever would. I just want to vet my escorts on a more reliable level and I prefer going through Daddy's reviews. That being said however, I have numerous friends who use BP and CL almost exclusively. Are there unsatisfactory experiences, absolutely, but there are unsatisfactory experiences with regular escorts as well. My friends will be quick to tell you that there are gems and rare quality finds on BP and routinely have wonderful experiences with these guys at a far less cost than hiring off the more traditional sites. And it has been told to me that many of these guys that they hire are not only into escorting, but will very often want to engage in a friendship as well.

 

Some members have mentioned that by putting in a few "key" words, like Gen/daddy/ etc. you can limit your search so that you don't have to weed through a whole host of undesirable ads.

 

Perhaps someone will jump in here and offer up the best way to search on BP and CL...I don't think that I will ever start using BP, but then again....Never say never.

BP in SoCal is intriguing. There are always a few real hotties and I've been chatting with a few and will likely set up a meeting. On the other hand, there a tons of self-described "dominate (sic) thugs" and phone numbers that, when Googled, reveal numerous users, including trannies.

Backpage and the lost, lamented Craigslist adult ads remind me of the good old days when the Advocate and Frontiers had escort ads. The ads were cheaper and easier and attracted a lot more short-time escorts -- guys who were trying things out, and more regular guys. While I've had a great time with the true professionals on Rentboy, I also love these men who are new to the scene and not playing a character. I think that just the act of giving yourself an escort name can create some distance.

 

In Vegas last year I hired two different guys through Backpage. One was a hot black man who did a really lousy massage with way too much massage oil. He unexpectedly turned out to be a great kisser. I've found some great men in Miami and Atlanta, but boy do you have to dig through some trash to get there. Both cities are full of hustlers, in the absolute worst sense of the word. As others have noted there are some hot, fun guys on Backpage. I do think that you stand a higher chance of getting disappointed, ripped off, or killed on this site though. If you have a high degree of self-loathing or self destructive tendencies this is the place for you. If not, it might still be the place for you if you're on your guard and are using your best judgment.

I just spoke last weekend with a member who reiterated to me a series of search words to use on BP. This is not the first time that I have heard someone mention those words. He swears, as others do that it really works. I don't hire from BP, so I didn't write them down, but it would be VERY helpful if one of the MF members would post that information, I think it would help some of you guys interested in searching on BP. As I recall Gman, he was saying that you have to use all the "key" words in succession for it to work, apparently searching on BP is a bit of an art form....good luck.

The OP, Axiom, just referenced Backpage escort ads. BVB brought up this idea of searching through hosts of ads.

 

Maybe someone will respond with an example. I've never seen escort ads in Backpage sections other than the Adult categories -- Male Escorts, and Body Rubs. Craigslist occasionally has ads in its Personals section with keywords such as gen or $, but they're often quickly flagged. Backpage's Dating categories are not as widely used as Craigslist's Personals. Even for a large city such as LA the first page of ads scrolls back to December. It does seem to have a mix of personal ads and massage / bodyrub ads. If there are some other diamonds hiding in the rough I would love to be able to find them.

I've had great success with both Craigslist and Backpage, my favorite go-to guy who I've been seeing from Craigslist for over a year now is a UCLA student (I've hired several...) He's a total treasure who I've taken for weekend expeditions to Palm Springs, SF, and Mexico for $400-600 (full weekend).

 

My search filters for Craigslist are quite good (I recommend you bookmark these): m4m / casual and are returning 880+ results for the LA area right now. Of course, many of those are gen offers, flags, negative mentions and typos, so it's still a hunting expedition, but it makes the search less grueling.

 

I call & chat with the guys, give 'em my list of 7 things I'm looking for, knock points off for paranoia, negativity (especially "don't do ___" type rules), vagueness and obfuscation add big points for masculine sounding voice, positivity, upbeat vibe, slightly cocky "bro" attitude, comic tendencies and new age/pantheistic philosophy (almost makes him a "must hire"!), then meet in one of my fav hotels for the first session as an "audition". Sorry, I was aiming for maximum simplicity - get rid of the space in "rate s", that kills the remaining search terms - the m4m is only for the casual group, the parenthesis and vertical bars are necessary for the regex to work - also you can leave off the "$" in generou$, doesn't help, but other permutations of "gene|gener|genero|genrus" are good to add. In my bookmarks I have a folder with these filters and backpage bookmarks for every city and state I frequent. I'm nothing if not dedicated to the hunt.

 

Also if you notice search terms I missed, please chime in and contribute to the collection, after posting I just thought of adding "broke" and got 15 extra matches.

I've tried twice to hire from back page.com in Phoenix without much success. The first time was a decent experience (not great). Early Friday evenings are pretty good, weekday nights are fine. Not real good for waiting until the last minute, I try to start calling 2-3 days before I have time for a new guy, or go to my recent list of successful phone calls.
