Does NYC have its own rules?

I will be in NYC tomorrow and Friday and started contacting guys for an appointment last week.

 

To date, only one has responded to a call or text. Problem is I am somewhat disabled and would like to talk to the escort about this before the appointment.

 

The escort I have heard from knows I want to talk to him on the phone before tomorrow to discuss the actual appointment but every time I've called him it goes right to voicemail. Within minutes I get a text that he's not available to talk but he can text. He tells me that it's been a crazy week but that he definitely is still on for the appointment. I've even asked if he can give me a time it would be convenient to talk with no reply to the question. He seems like a really nice guy, but now I'm uncertain. The last thing I want to have happen is tomorrow night comes and I'm all alone.

 

Before you ask, I've been very careful to not contact more than once every two or three days so I don't seem like a stalker, and all the guys I contacted have gotten VERY good reviews at this site. Does NYC just have a higher ratio of flakes or do the escorts there have increased demand so communication with a client just isn't a priority?

First of all welcome to the board. It is an excellent question, since the escort has put you in a uncomfortable position, perhaps without knowing it, but uncomfortable nonetheless. You seem to be in a bit of hard spot. On the one hand I am hearing from your post that you seem apprehensive about the lack of an actual phone call and yet you express concern that you don't want to be alone. I never hire anyone without a verbal contact first, but that's just me, it's my preference. I do know that many of the escorts only communicate via text, but I would think that it is professional courteous to respond by phone, since you have requested that he do so.

 

It is pure nonsense that he is too busy to respond by phone, and I think that you know that. The fact that you have requested phone contact and he ignores your requests indicates to me that there is a general lack of respect toward you.

 

I do not know how you are feeling and how much you really want this to happen, but if it were me, and a simple request had been ignored, then I would absolutely pass on the appointment. I would explain why, very simply through a text and then move on. AND NO... NYC doesn't have it's own rules....lol... He sounds like he is lacking in professional courteous.

 

Only one time did an escort ignore my request for phone contact. We were getting close to the appointment, and he had ignored me much the same way that you are being ignored. I sent a simple but direct text, stating very simply that I felt uncomfortable about meeting anyone without hearing their voice first. I asked him to call me at 8 am the following morning, and explained that if I did not hear from him then I would regretfully would have to cancel our appointment. He did call as I requested, apologized for not responding, and said that he just found communicating via text to be much faster and more convenient. I went through with the hire, and it was actually outstanding. So you never know what some of these guys are thinking.

Believe me I can definitely understand your frustration. You think it's New York. Surely I can find what I want here. And if I'm paying I should be able to get exactly what I want. Unfortunately for you, and I know this is hard to hear - but your height requirement is ruling out the majority of choices. I just did an advanced search on Rentboy. I used muscular, versatile and top, and I included a height of 6'2". There were only 26 who popped up. If I had used your criteria of taller than 6'2" and only tops, I'm sure there would have been much less. Trying to work with you- I believe Austin Wolf has had at least one good review- however when I tried to reach him before a trip 2 months ago- I found him very hard to reach. Mike and Chris Roberts have good reviews- but I know Mike's ad says he is 6'2" and I'm not sure about Chris. Both of them have reputations as very dominant so probably not quite the boy friend experience you were looking for. I just re-ran the search using only 'top' and above 6'2"as a criteria, and the only well-known guy was Bryan Knight.

 

While it may be hard to hear- if you can't adjust your criteria somewhat- with the limited pool you have to choose from- you may have to chance whether the guy you selected will come through for you without ever actually talking to him 1st.

I had no idea it was Black Party weekend. That certainly explains the lack of response from some individuals. I'm still not impressed with the one individual who agreed to the appointment but couldn't be bothered to actually speak to me. So I did as you all suggested and I turned lemons into lemonade. No, strike that. I turned lemons into delicious lemon italian waterr ice with a shot of limoncello on the side.
