On this forum, there has been more than one thread discussing

how some forum members hound other forum members off the site.

Is it appropriate for some aggressive forum members to re-focus

their energies towards known escorts who use fake/misleading ads--

i.e., send them critical emails, ask them to get their act together,

point out that everyone knows their foul game, etc.?

Or is this negative thinking? Be blunt.

Well from my perspective, I have been a victim of fake ads, and I would say that someone using a fake or misleading ad is knowingly lying and trying to scam you. It is despicable in my book. That being said, everyone is different. For me, when it has happened, I have never ever followed through with a negative email or contacted the escort any further. What is the point really? The guy knows what he is doing, did it willingly, and will most likely do it again. I can't imagine wasting my time with someone who has that kind of character. I just move on. Seems to me that involves a lot of negative energy. I would just rather focus my time and energy on all the great escorts who do provide amazing services, and the more important things in life.

Now for those that come out of pocket for travel expenses or go to great length in time and energy to see someone, only to find out that they are a victim of a scam, I can understand the immense frustration. If someone is that angry, then posting something on the forum is/can be very helpful to others, and that is probably the route that I would take, but contact the escort again, never!

I essentially agree with bigvalboy – why bother? The escort in question isn’t likely to care what you think of his misleading ad after all he wrote it and we must assume he knew that the information was false. If you want to vent this is the place to do it: 1.) write a review if the false information was really egregious or 2.) post a line or two in this forum if the information was less damning.

I have been extremely fortunate in that I have never encountered this problem. I tend to attribute that to the fact that I seldom hire guys who don’t have multiple reviews here. Even on the rare occasions when I have hired an escort without reviews I have been lucky. Right now I have a review in waiting of Eddy/LA who has no reviews. He turned out to be exactly as he presented himself on his rentboy ad.

P.S. I believe this makes 3000 posts for me which should make me something new. I wonder what it will be? Site S.O.B.!

I don't see how to equate the two ideas. Forum members that hound other members off the site are self-absorbed bullies. They do what they do. You're not going to be able to get them to refocus their energies on anything.

As long as one doesn't threaten an escort or masseur, or defame him, I see nothing wrong with telling him that you're on to his scam, and that you will do everything you can to alert your friends and others to what he is doing. As others have said here tonight, it will probably do little good, but it just might. You can't call the Better Business Bureau, so vent this way. And it might do some good. Then again, as others have said, is it worth your time and effort? Up to you.

Does anyone see the subtle humor in this?

If one has a negative experience with an escort (fake or otherwise), write a review. Personally, I see no point in making threats or harassing an escort off-line. Like any other business, the most effective method for hurting a dishonest escort is to stop hiring them and begin hiring their competition. The cream always rises to the top, while the "bad apples" drop off and fade away.

Good topic. I agree with Pegasus. My worry about the other approach is whether nagging would end up going beyond those posting fake ads to a companion someone didn't have a good session with - the whole slippery slope thing. Have a beef, write a review, post a warning thread (guys can still make up their own mind whether to still hire an unknown), etc.

Your original post has two solid ideas -- one about going after escorts with fake ads, and the other about "how some forum members hound other forum members off the site." I've enjoyed some of the conversation about how one might go after the escorts, and whether it would be a useful endeavor. I've seized on your premise that these bullying forum members might somehow be channeled for a more productive effort. You've seen these people in action. They're mean-spirited, vindictive, and often arbitrary. I'd more likely expect one to go after a good escort for when he didn't get what he wanted or expected. These men take things very personally and usually tear people down for all the wrong reasons.

If I'm reading your implication about humor correctly I believe it's a little off. I stuck to the facts and my opinions and never made my reply about you. To me, disagreeing with one of your ideas is a far cry from the self-important, bullying personal attacks you see when someone is being hounded off this site. I apologize in advance if I've misinterpreted your point about subtle wit.

I understand what you mean but I think escorts who use fake pictures should be denounce.

Nobody can keep cheating potential clients with "borrowed" pictures, sooner or later he'll run out of client and he'll have to get another kind of job or move to another city.
