Bill Murray. Laura Linney.

I thought this little movie was highly enjoyable. The story of FDR in 1939 and his rather bizarre living arrangements at Hyde Park -- living under the roof of his mother, his lesbian wife and her "she-man" -- as FDR calls her -- living in a cottage on the estate, and his two current mistresses taking turns giving him hand jobs -- was something I suppose I knew from history but hadn't seen done onscreen before. Then there's the visit of George VI and Queen Elizabeth. Brilliantly played I thought.

Murray doesn't attempt FDR's patrician accent but still somehow captures the private man and I thought it was a terrific performance.

As I said a little film, doesn't amount to much, but one that I enjoyed very much.
