Hi Everyone-

I'm planning on visiting the Buffalo/Niagara Falls area this Spring, and am wondering if anyone who is familiar with the area can advise on a part of the city and/or hotel there. Last Spring I stayed in Niagara Falls, Ontario, which turned out to be a bad idea because no one wanted to cross the border to visit me. This visit I'll stay on the US side and would like to be centrally located to the city and the falls.

Any advice is much appreciated.

You can stay at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls NY. Other escorts have stayed at the Hyatt in downtown Buffalo or the Millenium or the Mariott in suburban Buffalo. Also met one at the Courtyard. All the suburban locations are easily reached by super highways. Sorry I will be in Florida till mid-May. Be great to connect.

Crossing the border can be an issue for some, especially now that you need a passport or enhanced drivers license.

There are a good selection of hotels in the Niagara Falls area. I do believe that the Seneca Casino requires a room key for the elevator, at least it did when I stayed there. Downtown Buffalo has several nice hotels, Hyatt, Embassy Suites at the Avant. The Marriott in Amherst is midway between downtown Buffalo and Niagara Falls. The good thing about the area is nothing is more than a 10-20 minute drive away.

Thanks everyone, for all the great information. I'm thinking I'll end up doing the Marriott in the North of town for the majority of the trip and then a night or two in Niagara on the Lake for some wine tasting.

Traveler North- I actually won't be arriving until late Spring, so you might be back while I'm there.

Looking forward to making the trip again. I found the border crossing to be pretty stress free. Only took about 10 minutes each time.
