Occasionally, a hot guy shows up in the LA area Backpage listings. I realize that these young studs prefer texting to speaking live; however, I require a live conversation before meeting for a number of reasons. I want to discuss the session and mutual desires and my requirements. I also find that it's valuable for both parties to hear each others' voices. This has rarely been a problem. There's a cute guy who's been recommended to me. He asked if today would be a good day to speak. I said yes. Then he asked what I wanted to speak about, all in texts. I give up.

I think you just answered your own post. I use text messaging allot myself but see the point in talking to someone equally for all the reasons you state. I think it just comes down to maturity.

Years ago when I started the whole texting thing, I really wanted to hear someones voice before I hired. All the masseurs and escorts understood and would accommodate me. Now however, it no longer matters. I love texting and email and find all of it so much faster and more efficient. If I am communicating with an old friend, then perhaps talking by phone, but just to finalize plans, I think email or texting is so much more simple.

Several years ago I hired a very handsome guy with whom my only communication was e-mail. He arrived on time and just as handsome as his pics. When he spoke the sound that emerged was in a tone so high only dogs could hear it. Ever since I must speak with my potential hire before we finalize our arrangements.

That's exactly what I prefer. Initial contacts by text, then a live call before the first session. After the initial session, exclusively text works for me perfectly.

If I am reading this correctly, you like to speak with a guy before hiring him and this guy agreed to speak to you. Then you gave up. I fail to see the problem other than you decided not to speak with him after he asked what you wanted to speak about. Could you have texted back "I would like to speak about likes and dislikes and get a feel for how you sound before we meet?"

Sorry, I did text him that I wanted to speak live about the expectations for the session and he said ok. Ten minutes later he texted back "what do you want to talk about?". He was probably high.
