Well, I am not going to say that he looks bad, but I do think that Cheyenne Jackson looked great in Xanadu. I saw him up close, and he was so handsome with the sexiest legs. Here is a series of pictures from The Performers, and you can decide for yourself what you think on how great he looks: http://www.playbill.com/multimedia/gallery/4587/Cheyenne-Jackson-Henry-Winkler-Ari-Graynor-Are-The-Performers-on-Broadway/?pnum=1

BTW, I went to book a ticket online, and they wanted $137 when it came down to the bottom line. Too much for me. I will wait for a coupon.

Don't know when you saw him in Xanadu, but I saw him fairly early in the run, and saw him Sat evening in Peformers. He's obviously showing a lot more skin in this one than he ever did in Xanadu and he is in much better shape. Show was 50% off at TKTS, and has been up fairly regularly- of course its still in previews too.

Don't know when you'll be in town, but here's a current offer with just a few weeks left.

"Get tickets for just $69 from now until November 18. Just use the code HEYNOW at the Longacre Theatre or http://broadwayoffers.com/. Whoever wins, you'll be laughing!"

I saw The Performers with a group of eight people on Halloween, the first night that Broadway reopened after Sandy. The theater was only 2/3 full, and mostly with tourists who were staying in the theater district, since there wasn't any subway service at that point yet.

It truly contains the bawdiest, most "adult" dialogue I have ever seen on a Broadway stage. Nothing coyly suggestive about it...it's right there. Cheyenne spends the first five minutes in just his briefs, and looks amazing.

The show is not for everyone. The wife in the couple in front of me was very excited when both Henry Winkler and Alicia Silverstone came on stage, but spent much of the evening shrinking down in her seat.... Lines like "I could tell how much you loved her when you aimed your cumshot away from her eyes." would have made me cringe had my mom or sister been sitting next to me.

The situation is a basic RomCom one, two couples dealing with their marriage and engagement, so the ending is fairly predictable...but I don't think the dialogue getting there won't be uttered by Katherine Heigl or James Marsden anytime soon.

One quibble...yes, I know a number of folks in the porn industry, and the ones who are achieving the success in life that they portray on stage are NOT stupid. And many of the laughs in this show come for the absolute idiocy of the four porn stars.

I got it on the $69 deal and had spectacular seats.

Bad reviews and closing Sunday, November 19...

NYTimes reports today:

“The Performers,” a new Broadway comedy set in the world of the pornographic film industry, will close on Sunday, only days after opening to harsh reviews. It will have played 7 performances and 23 previews at the Longacre Theater.
