A client I seen yesterday asked me if I was free next week. Well of course I am and so we discussed a follow up appointment. He has a regular escort in Durham, a medieval city about 20 miles from me but he was tired of waiting around. I'll admit..... I have made clients wait a little from time to time, especially on tours because your 2.30, 1 hour appointment might not get to you until 3pm and then you're trying your best to juggle stuff about with out pissing off both clients. You want to give him his time but conscious of the fact your 4pm might ring early or be on time.

 

He said that on the last 4 appointments, he's got to the end of the street, called the escort to say he was here and either got voicemail or a sheepish excuse to wait a few moments. On one occasion these "moments" being 25 minutes. Obviously he knows that his favourite escort is seeing other clients and squeezing them in before his regular weekly afternoon session. The client is popping out of work to see the escort, so the hours appointment which would be 1.5 hours including travel, turns into a 2 hour absence from work. It was starting to irritate him.

I am going to see him again next week, hopefully and felt I was being told this so he could be assured I didn't carry on like this myself. I don't mind because I don't work like that but it got me thinking if other clients have had this happen to them and how they felt knowing their escort was seeing someone seconds before them.

I don't care if the escort is seeing someone seconds before me but I don't want to be told to wait because he is trying to squeeze another appointment in. If the client before me is running late then his time should be shortened or cancelled. Hopefully the escort builds enough extra time in between appointments to cover problems.

Steve, you said that the client was upset with his "regular" escort. That says to me that he's seen this particular escort a number of times and, perhaps, has developed somewhat of a friendship with him as well as a business relationship. So, this escort, treating him like just another customer in a queue might have been particularly annoying or hurtful to him.
